The sun was setting over the Sabertooth mountains. The air was cool and welcoming after a hot day, the colours of the sky were rich in yellows, oranges and streaks of stunning violet. The canopies of the trees that created the forest below looked dark but comforting, the meadow by the river was illuminated by colonies of fireflies that lingered over the blooming flowers. Even Nightingale City looked dreamy in the distance, the haze of smoke that rose from the metal and brick structures distorted the sky. The gradual turn on of glimmering lights that imitated the night sky that was due to come; the whole set up was incredibly romantic.

A white wolf sat on the small plateau, leaning back against the rock face that he had made comfortable with the aid of vines, leaves and even a patterned blanket that had been found near one of the villages. The little nook overlooked the Poison Night territory, only those who knew the way could get up there. It was the place where he and Vanille used to watch the sunset, huddled close to one another. Tonight, it was another, not the black and gold flecked wolf with bright yellow eyes. Instead, there was the ebony wolf with silken fur and a bright white face, her eyes glinting in the low light, her stomach round from maternity. The pair was nestled into one another, sharing their warmth as the temperature slowly dropped.

"Galena?" The white wolf asked softly, pressing his cheek to his mates.

"Yes?" She looked up at him, a smile gracing her feminine features.

Ghost pulled an arm around her, holding her closer to him as he whispered sweet nothings into her ear, causing giggles to escape Galena's lips that echoed off of the rock around them. They shared a kiss, before resuming watching as the sun lazily began to sink towards the horizon.

Galena's ears perked when she swore she heard claw on stone, but Ghost told her to ignore it. He told her that it was just him; he had just clumsily traced his claw along the stone floor.

Then there it was again, but this time she was sure that it wasn't from Ghost. Galena shifted and stood, looking out. "What is that Ghost?" She asked, and just before he could reply, two figures had climbed up onto the plateau. The white wolf grinned, and placed a paw on her shoulder, "I thought, on such a beautiful night, how could we not invite some of our friends to join us?"

The two newcomers were Cobalt and Tasha, walking towards them hand in hand as they greeted the pair when Galena relaxed back into Ghost's arms. The Alpha pair sat down beside them, and they made general conversation. The mood was calm and stress free, they had been given the chance to kick back and relax.

Only a few moments after they had begun their conversation another pair had come to join them, this time it was AJ and Hielo. Galena gave Ghost a quizzical look, and when they sat down with them, Ghost stood up and placed himself in front of the small crowd, a proud smile on his face.

"Thanks for coming guys, I really appreciate it. Now, I've never been great with speeches but... Here goes." Ghost steadied himself, glancing over his shoulder, he only had a few minutes before the sunset would show its final show before allowing the night to take over, the moon could already be seen waiting patiently in the sky nearby.

"I wanted you to come today, to receive my thanks. It's almost two years since we started this, Cobalt, you and me starting off together. It was fun, a challenge, trying to teach each other the ways of old and new. We had amazing times together, watching each other's backs and sharing out our responsibilities – but still having fun. You provided so many amazing stories on the long summer nights around the campfire. You're a true friend, and a brother to me. Thank you so much... Tasha, what can I say? Having you come to us from the Crimsons was a god send, it really was. Without you; Cobalt and I wouldn't have managed to even run the pack. You taught me ways of leadership and helped me become a better Alpha, you're an amazing person and you have such a beautiful soul, untainted and pure. Thank you for being such a good friend to me... AJ, what on earth would we do without you? Without you, I'm sure so many of us would have suffered greatly if it weren't for your gifts with water. I'm so proud of you, you've grown so much over the two years since we found you, just look now, you're an Alpha! Thank you... Hielo, head hunter, again how much you have progressed in the time the pack has been together! You could become an Alpha too one day, after such dedication you've shown as leader of your rank. Thank you... And last, but definitely not least, Galena. Oh, how much we've been through... Since the very moment I laid eyes on you I knew it was going to be you. You've helped me better myself in so many ways, and really brought out the best in everyone in the pack. I want to thank you for everything you've done for us Galena, and I want to thank you personally for giving me the chance to be a father again... I love you." Ghost choked on a few emotions there, but brushed them off with a chuckle. "Enough of my sentiments though! Let's enjoy this."

Ghost would return to his position next to Galena, who planted a kiss on his cheek. Before he sat down AJ stood and gave him a hug, followed by Tasha as he sat down, getting a pat on the shoulder from Cobalt and a round of applause from Hielo. Ghost chuckled nervously and scratched the back of his neck, he then settled and relaxed as he snuggled up to Galena.

The six wolves would then divert their gaze to the sky ahead of them, gasps and sighs escaped each of them as they watched as the sky turned from a rich gold to the brightest of oranges until as the sun finally disappeared from view, the sky went a blazing red and gradually faded as the thick black night sky draped over the red like a curtain as the bright white stars began to appear in the sky. The various constellations clear and bright, bringing on that fascination of what lay beyond.

To end off a perfect evening, the group would let out a strong and powerful howl, the leaders of the Pack uniting as one as they sang out to the forest. Various other voices emerged to join in on the melodious song.
