My fourth Submission for Summoners Online.This one took far longer than expected....The background gave me trouble, the griffon changed colors 4 times.....
Photo references were used on his head and wings....which really doesnt explain why his offside wing looks so gimpy...I swear it looked like that in the photo!!

The griffon is cool. The clouds and the mountains, (or sand hills?) as the background, make him look grander.

Looks great, I like the combination of desert and clouds and how the gryphons seems to gleam golden. ^^

I love the sheer details you placed in the head and feathers.
If it weren't for the outlines, this, combined with that brilliant background, would be almost photo-quality.
I really like the approach to shading you used on the legs and clouds.
My question is what other colors you tried for the gryphon. Because I'm guessing somewhere like black, white, or red as a few possibilities you used.

I love this one - good choice on the colors as well. I used to play a griffon character on the Avatar MUD years ago. I named him Windjammer and this is pretty much how I envisioned him (actually, the image I had in mind originally was from a Magic:The Gathering calendar, which just goes to show how geeky I was... am... nevermind...)
