Description

The main reason I started working on a Henry Cavill-like Genesis 8 shape was for my own characters, not so I could render fan art of The Witcher.

Decisions, decisions...

Kane McKellen is the obvious choice. An NYPD detective and former Navy SEAL, Kane was gunned down while trying to help Layla Aschenbrand in October 1999, an immortal woman suffering from amnesia. Layla saved his life, but the way she did it altered him. Kane, who'd been in his 40's at the time, was given back his youth and a shadow of her immortality. Along with it: heightened senses, speed, reflexes, and strength. He also wound up with slightly longer-and-sharper-than-normal canine teeth and wolf-like eyes nearly identical to those of Deshret al-Fazil, a more-than-human assassin he went up against while helping Layla. After these changes Kane left the NYPD and became something of a knight-errant or ronin.

Fenris is another good choice, but means I'd have to invest in a lot of Ancient Greek and Norse-looking items. He was my first attempt at creating a "barbarian" wanderer for short stories and art back in 1995-96. Fenris was like Kane in that he had heightened senses, speed, reflexes, and strength, wolfish canine teeth and wolf-like eyes, but his came from a half-human, half-berserker father. Berserkers are a werewolf-like people from cold northern regions used as background in a lot of my writing. I could never decide if Fenris should inhabit a D&D-style fantasy world or a fictionalized version of the ancient Mediterranean world (around the time Minoan civilization was at it's height). His mother was from civilized southern nations which is why he was drawn to them. My son was born around the time I created Fenris and I spent spent pretty much every day taking care of him, taking him places with me, so I had an idea about Fenris caring for his own son while adventuring.

With characters like these you can see why I enjoyed The Witcher series on Netflix so much.

I suppose I could use this shape for both characters. If I do more renders using him as Kane McKellen then I'd better figure out how to recreate Delilah in DAZ Studio. I seem to have lost her Genesis 8 shape. She's the demon-like woman who gunned Kane down (shot him with his own gun) and, in a twist, later becomes his soulmate.

Yes, I used this exact scene for recent renders of Hannah Somerset, but that's because I got pissed off with every other set I tried to use first.
