Chapter 1
The Journey begins
“Amber get up” Amber’s mum called from downstairs.
Amber groaned, turning over in her sleep, but not waking up.
“Amber up, NOW” Amber’s mum yelled at the top of her lungs.
Amber fell out of bed, due to her sensitive hearing.
“Fine, I’m up, I’m up” Amber mumbled, getting up and rubbing her head.
Amber got dressed into navy blue shirt and pants which had two blue strips running down the sides. She looked in the mirror, checking her reflection. Amber was not a normal person, well she wasn’t completely human. She was a half dog-demon, which meant she was half human too. Being afraid of being hated, she hide her two blue dog ears which sat on her head with her long, blue hair under a hat. Then clipped her claws to make them look like normal fingernails.
Walking out of her bedroom, Amber went downstairs to see what her mum wanted. The hallway was dark, but her silver coulored eyes could see everything. A few seconds later, Amber made it to the lounge room, finding her mum waiting for her.
“What do you want Mum?” Amber asked.
Amber’s mum gave Amber a warning growl. Under her hat, Amber’s ears started to pin down.
“I know you want to travel, it’s practically normal” Amber’s mum told her with a purr in her throat.
“Well, to everybody else, I’m not considered normal” Amber muttered.
“Amber, just try instead of hiding” Amber’s mum growled at her. Amber let out a small whine of defeat.
“Ok, I’d already called Professor Oak to let him know that you would be coming” Amber’s mum said, with a big grin on her face, which showed both of her fangs. Amber gave her mum a big grin, which showed her fangs as well.
In a flash, Amber disappeared out of the house and head towards Professor Oak’s lab. What would have taken a human half an hour, took Amber only a few minutes, due to her demonic speed.
Amber knocked on the door then waited for Professor Oak to answer it. Seconds after waiting, Professor Oak opened it, with a surprised look on his face.
“Well your mum was right, when she said that you’d be here in a flash, she wasn’t kidding. How did you learn how to run that fast?” Professor Oak asked, curios.
Amber felt her ears pin down onto the base of her skull.
“Just lucky, I guess” Amber mutter, trying not to sound nervous.
“Ok so you finally want to become a pokemon trainer” Professor Oak said.
Amber nodded with agreement. Professor Oak went back inside and gestured her to follow. Amber followed him into a room that had three pokeballs sitting on a table.
“Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur are the three pokemon that you can choose from” Professor Oak told Amber.
‘I always loved Charmander, I always choose him when I play the gameboy game, so I don’t think I should start with him’ Amber thought to herself scratching Charmander off the list.
‘Squirtle sounds like a nice beginner pokemon, but Bulbasaur would be good enough for me’ Amber thought.
“Bulbasaur, I chose Bulbasaur” Amber told Professor Oak. Professor Oak nodded.
“I’m quiet sure that Bulbasaur will be a good friend” Professor Oak replied, giving Amber the pokeball that held Bulbasaur.
“Bulbasaur reveal yourself” Amber said, releasing the plant pokemon.
“Bulb” Bulbasaur said (finally). She looked up and saw Amber.
Amber got down onto her knees and started patting Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur purr at Amber’s touch.
“How about I give you a proper name” Amber suggested
“Bulba, Bulbasaur” (Petal, I want to be called Petal).
“Ok, Petal it is then” Amber said, smiling, but not showing her fangs.
Professor Oak gave Amber 10 pokeballs and a pokedex then shooed her and Petal out.
Amber picked Petal up and dashed home, wanting to introduce Petal to her mum.
“Bulba saur” (Your half demon aren’t you?)
Amber skidded to a stop and almost fell over.
“You knew?” Amber asked shocked.
“Bulba, bulba, bulbasaur” (I kinda knew, because you didn’t smell completely human).
