This is my entry for the Quarterly Pixiv Vol.09 artbook (info here if you have a pixiv account [link] )
I'm really excited to be participating in this contest. For people who don't have pixiv accounts - It's for one of pixiv's artbooks and they usually have contests for the quarterly editions. The themes were 1)free theme and 2)rainy season. The rainy season is coming in Asia. XD Hydrangeas and lotus flowers errywhere.
I'm also nervous because pixiv users are too proooooooo for me. I hope my piece even gets considered for the book lol;; The deadline was May 14 but I'm glad I finished it because now I have to work on a metric fuckton of homework.

I was bored and tried to make a piece BUT EH FUCK IT LOL. The next QPixiv is gonna come in like Late June/July (?)
I really love the composition, the colors go so well together too!
I wonder if they tell you if you make it to semi-finalists or were at least considered?

Thank you <333 omg the hydrangeas took fucking FOREVER to draw. I kept drawing ovals and stupid leaves until I said "FUCK IT" and just copy pasted a lot of petals and then cleaned it up until it looked like a hydrangea. /secret exposed
Lol, vol.10 will be obviously summer themed. That's really the only thing you can do for June/July. Q___Q
I just always assumed they would PM you if you got in? I didn't know there was a semifinal round LOOOLshiiiit. The Free Theme section has at least 3x the amount of works than the Rainy Theme section. I hope they make the artbook half and half so the possibility of me getting in is higher lol ;___;

Seriously, I'm like creeping through the Free Theme section and I'm dying because so many entries are so beautiful---
Do you know how big the artbook is? I only have the Pixiv Girl's Collection 2009 and it's roughly the same as the other girl's collection editions. Maybe if there's more pages I can hope I have a higher chance of making it lol;;;

The Rainy one had the better entries (it's a more skilled topic of course /shot..)
It seems like they all have about 128 pages? And apparently some of them are tutorials for.. certain artists (I'm guess the invited ones/the cover artists haha).

LOL yeah there's a lot of crappy ones but there's also a lot of really good ones, they're just scattered among the more inadequate entries.
