Description I need your help!

I don't know if I like this drawing or not. Right now I think I shouldn't finish it. What do you think?

Should I finish it? Put it away for some weeks again? Or it's trash?

Maybe take a rest, if it's too demanding... I can see you're working on the hair, which is understood needs a lot of attention.

Oh yeah the hair.... during I work on the hair I often ask myself why I don't choose to draw the other picture of Geena I have in my reference folder. But I guess this is the best for the orange paper.
But first I putting away for some time.

Kann schon sein das ich mir ärger wenn ich es nicht fertig machen sollte. Ich leg es jetzt erst mal auf die Seite und dann mach ich es fertig wenn mir danach ist, jetzt würd ich es wohl eher versauen statt besser.

Danke schön, freut mich das Du ein Fan meiner Zeichnungen bist. Über solche Kommentare freu ich mich immer riesig, da macht das zeichnen immer doppelt so viel Spaß, wenn man weiß andere haben auch ihren Spaß dran.

Hey, find die Technik echt Klasse, das Motiv an sich is nich ganz so mein Ding (kennst ja mein geschmack ) aber es passt sehr gut zu dem orangenen Papier, würde es auf jeden Fall voll fertig machen!
Es sei denn natürlich es macht dir grad kein Spaß dann würd ich sofort aufhören.

Im Moment macht's mir nicht wirklich Spaß dran weiter zu machen. Kann auch sein das es an den Haaren liegt, hätte doch lieber das andere Bild von ihr als Vorlage nehmen sollen, aber das hätte auf dem Papier auch nicht wirklich gewirkt. Naja was soll's, selber Schuld. Jetzt leg ich es erst mal bei Seite und kram es wieder hervor wenn mir danach ist.

Yay I love it when you draw Geena!

I believe in always finishing your work even if you don't like it at all and want to throw it away. That way you can always look back at it and see what you'd like to imrpove the next time around. But that's just how I work really. Whatever you decide though.

I'll finish it, but it need some time. Sometimes it's really hard to finish a drawing when you don't like what you see. Or when I make faults, but the most I finished till now.

Oh no, don't trash it, Marion! I definitely think it should be finished. The likeness is superb, and I just love those bold colors! Plus, there isn't enough Geena art on here. If you're in a rut and just aren't excited over this picture to finish it right now, then put it aside for a while and come back to it later. But yes, definitely keep this.

Ja, da hast Du recht, von Geena findet man hier wirklich sehr wenig.
Na, ich werd es erst mal weg legen und dann, wenn mir danach ist, wieder hervor kramen und fertig machen. Allerdings ist es teilweise echt schwierig das viele orange und rot auf dem orangen Papier, da gehen einem die Augen teilweise über.

Ich finde schon, dass du weiter daran arbeiten solltest. Wenn dir dabei irgendwie nicht behaglich ist, arbeite erst lieber an anderen Bilder. Du wirst dabei Erfahrungen sammeln, die du dann bei diesem Portrait einfliessen lassen kannst. Und das Bild ist sicherlich kein Trash

Ich werd's erst mal zur Seite legen, denn im Moment würd ich glaub mehr kaputt machen als es zu verbessern. Also landet es wieder für ein paar Tage oder Wochen im Schrank und wenn mir danach ist werd ich es fertig machen.

I think of not finishing it, when I draw some hours on a picture and don't really like what I see. So I ask myself if I should finish when I don't like it. Or sometimes I have no fun after some time to finish it. Mostly it helps to put it away for some time.

Geena Davis? Die bekanntesten Filme wo sie mit gespielt hat sind, Beatlejuice, Stuart Little, und Eine Klasse für sich, da hat auch Madonna mitgepielt, war noch in den 80ern.

if there are no other words to live by, they are these... "Always Finish What You Start"


Now, I have said before, feel free to walk away for a couple days, but the bottom line to finish.

Now with that being said, I think one of the major difficulties you are having with the piece is that is is so vibrant with colour, you lost some depth. So the colour pops yes, but the overall image is flat. This is specially noticeable around the lips and nose, neck and collar.

Maybe take a couple days off, than come back and concentrate on building depth, than finish the colours. (-;

It does look well, and I can tell who it is, so you are a major step ahead of the game.

It's definitely worth finishing, but I'd recommend putting it aside for a few days or so before trying again. I'd hate for you to push to finish when you aren't comfortable with it, and end up dissatisfied with the final result, when it looks so wonderful already!
