Pepper has a Quarter Spanish White, base coat that takes up majority of her appearance. The second most apparent color, is the Zorba, dorsal patch that stretches from her shoulders, to her hips, and to the bridge of her tail. It is also, most apparent along her scruff and cheek, trailing off at her ear tips. Tracing along those edges, is a soft amber that blends the two contrasting colors. The darkest shade of color is a tricky one to spot from a far distance, but if you were to look closer, a Schooner mask could be seen on Pepper's face, traveling down her spine until it the bridge of her tail. In contrast with her saturated color palette, the most vibrant color on this Laika Elkhound, would be her Blossom colored nose and pawpads which are accompanied by her Hurricane, tinted nails. Last, but not least, are Pepper's brown eyes. A soft gradient from Brown Pod to Quincy.

Body type:
Although she was a perfect mix-breed of her Laika father and Elkhound mother, Pepper acquired most West Siberian Laika traits. Her coat is made up double coat, harsh straight hairs and thick, but soft, undercoat. She has a triangular head that is flat at the top with pricked ears, usually pointing directly up. Her eyes are almond shaped, distinctively slanted towards her elongated nose. This Laika Elkhound's tail is carried high, and over her back where her tail tip lies on her back. Pepper's body is longer in withe but sturdy, straight and parallel legs with muscular forequarters and hindquarters and strong feet support her structure. She stands to a average height of 21.5 inches, weighing an average of 40 lbs.

Pepper is noticeably anxious, stressed out, constantly looking for anything that could go wrong. She finds it rather difficult to take a moment to catch her breath or bask in the joy of the moment. She likes being in control of her surroundings, in control of her conversations with others. Getting into an argument with someone would intensify her anxiousness, drawing out her aggression. Losing an argument would feel as if she was backed up against a corner with no way out, caged in, out of control. Being placed in an area crowded with other dogs would make her paranoid, frantically looking behind herself to check for ambushes.
REBELLIOUS
Who likes being told what to do? Not Pepper. She is known for refusing to follow commands from higher authority or from others who think they can pass down commands to her. Tell her to do something? She will ignore your command and walk away. Tell her NOT to do something? She'll do it simply because you told her she wasn't allowed to. History

Pre-Puphood:
Pepper was the offspring of two, great dogs. Her father, William, was a Team Dog in the old sled team. Her mother, Bridget, was a hunting dog for the village. They had quite the love story, at least, that's what they told their pups. Belonging to two different masters, William and Bridget were positive that their relationship wouldn't last. They wouldn't be able to have have a family with one another, especially if both of them were destined to be imported to another village or town to breed with a stranger in the efforts to please the humans by creating 'the perfect puppy'. Despite that painful truth, they continued to express their fondness for one another, whether it was a trip to the mountain to watch the northern lights or eating sausages by the blazing fire in the living room. They promised to stay together 'til they day they part'- literally.

It didn't take long for William and Bridget's master to notice their attraction for one another, and from the expressions on their faces, they were pleased. Assuming that the idea of their dogs finding their significant other, was romantic. They encouraged their affair, nonetheless. Allowing 'play dates' so that both dogs would be able to spend more time with one another, in hopes that they will eventually decide to conceive their own litter of pups that would grow up to be fierce hunters or graceful sledders.
Puphood:
Birthed into a litter of four, Pepper was the eldest pup of the litter. After her, came three other bundles of joy, Rosemary, Helen and Emmett. The incredible four! They grew up with the support of both parents and their masters, each of them passing down obedience lessons to the pups as quick as possible to insure that they wouldn't pee where they weren't suppose to or chew on their newly bought furniture. While the other three had an easier time passing obedience tests, Pepper was a difficult one to work with. She would refuse to preform commands when beckoned, walking away with attitude in every step. That is - unless, you present her a treat she couldn't refuse.

When the pups began to outgrow the small house, Rosemary, Helen and Emmett were given away to families who wanted puppies. They were well-trained and behaved well, there wasn't a good reason not to adopted them, other than the unfortunate occurrence that someone could be allergic to dogs. Pepper was kept, as she grew on the master. He couldn't find the will in himself to give her away. It was only months afterwards, did she begin to bond with the master. Having no one to play with since her parents also leave the house to work, left Peps with the master as her only playmate, and he made a great playmate. Once the master was seen as family from her eyes, Pepper slowly began to preform her obedience tests when beckoned.
Adolescenthood:
When William passed away from old age, his master, Bridget and Pepper suffered emotionally. It was this specific event that activated Pepper's true personality and intrigued her to follow after William in becoming a Team Dog for a sled team. She had found her purpose, to carry on her father's legacy as he was a well-known team dog. His wish was to have one of his pups successfully carry on his lineage, and Pepper was going to be that pup.

When she taken into training for the Kesuk sled team, it was the most nerve-racking experience of her entire lifespan. She aimed on rising to the top so that she would be selected, despite it being extremely difficult for her to obey. She absolutely disliked being told what to do, but if she wanted this spot, she was going to have to. All the obedience tests and sledding lessons that this Laika Elkhound had to endure and pass, the trickiest test was her socializing skills with other dogs and humans. Pepper was not aggressive during the tests. She did not bark, growl nor attempt to bite any of the other dogs and humans. She, however, would stand straight up and eye near-by, unfamiliar dogs and humans. She was noticeably tense around them, suspicious of their every step as if they were plotting to pounce on her from behind.

Starting off, was a struggle for Pepper. It wasn't easy for her to relax when other dogs approached her with wagging tails. Who knew why they were happy? Did they have to get to know her? Why do they always attempt to lick her face? Just leave her tail alone! After awhile, she would lose her temper and lunge toward at said dog, again, not growling nor barking. Her tall, muscular stance and flattened ears were warnings enough. Eventually, she began to show more patience, taking longer for her to give off her 'warning stance'. Taking commands was also a struggle. She was motivated to succeed and pass, but there would be times where Pepper would grow irritated and decide it was time to end the session, completely ignoring the humans and walking away from them. With her patience growing and her decision to follow commands from the consistent training, Pepper's potential seemed to radiate off of her.
Adulthood:
Reaching Adulthood, Pepper was finally accepted into the Kesuk sled team as a Team Dog. She knew William was proud of her, he would have showered her with affectionate licks if he had the chance. Though, Bridget and her master's praise and affection were just enough. It was time to prove that all the training she undergone, all of the patience she acquired weren't for nothing.
