I think what I love most about this is the few colors used in this and the over all design and pose of the bird...and the little "caw" word bubble...that gets a giggle out of me.

Wow! I love the semi-translucent softness of those feathers... the lines are really graceful. The skull also has excellent shading, and the bright blue in an otherwise restrained palette is a great choice.

Bbaaaw, cute little bird skull ;x;. I'd say you succeeded in being quick and spontaneous; this guy feels really loose and spirited! Just from the pose, I imagine he'd be a pretty animated fellow...Nicely implied motion, there [in the abruptly halted sense alala]. Eee and the transparency and layering of silhouettes came out nice...the little chiseled bits are my most favorite though, mmmm!! I love how his wingtips are dragging along and leaving a little of him behind? Gyaaah, so clever c8

It quite reminds me of pheasant which is one of the most interestingly colored birds out there - in my opinion haha.
The skull is awesome as well. People draw skulls on random animals a lot, but somehow this one is different and it just.. Works.
Love the colors you used, and I love the big empty canvas with only one subject tucked away in the corner.

The contrasting colors really highlight the difference you have here with the black feathers and skull vs the lighter colored feathers, it really sets off the whole picture!

Really? Thank you! I've always thought my stuff is pretty static and needs a lot of work. I think it's just fun to bend, stretch and angle figures in (almost) unnatural poses - it's a lot more expressive to exaggerate everything a little. I'm not much good at answering questions, but thanks!
