Description
A new character named Agatha Devoue nee.Beaumont, the strong back on the farm and doting if a bit worrying mother of Aurelie.

Agatha was born in long lined family of peasant farmers, being the most recent owner of her family farm. She was fair and had a knowledge for the healing arts, but unlike many of the other women of her time she was tall, muscled, and was a working women as opposed to a housewife. This meant that she was often looked down upon the richer folk for her social standing and her fellow women for her look.

Agatha outwardly didn't care, but emotionally she was torn between how society expects her to look, and who she really is. As a result she was often reluctant to engage in conversation with anyone, especially those higher in class than her, and focused on maintaining her farm.

However, her farm was in trouble as the previous owner incurred a large unpaid debt that was passed on to her, and with her limited knowledge regarding money management due to not being able to have higher education due to her class, she struggled initially, until one fateful food delivery to the city.

During the visit she was accosted by rich folks as she made her delivery, until a young soldier named Renard stood up for her and shooed away the bullies. As they struck up a conversation she was enamored by his kind nature and his penchant for gardening. As things were going well a bandit raid occurred in the market place. Agatha was moved to safety by Renard as he and his patrol fought off the bandits. But as she fled she was cornered by a burly bandit wielding a huge axe, she tried to fight him off but the bandit managed to knock her down. As she saw him raised his axe to kill her, she felt overwhelmed with fear and was about close her eyes just as the bandit swung down the axe.

But to her amazement, the young soldier she just met that day rushed in front of her and took the deadly blow for her, saving her life. As the bandit was taken down by the patrol, Agatha rushed to the injured Renard, who had half of a huge axe in his lower body that cleaved all the way to the bone and was losing a lot of blood. Using her healing knowledge, she applied aid and quickly stopped the bleeding. She stayed by his side as the medical mages took him to be treated.

As he recovered in the hospital, Agatha visited him every day during her deliveries and brought him some of the food from her farm. As they conversed, they began to know more about each other, such as their likes and problems, such as Agatha's financial problems. When Renard expressed understanding as he came from a similar background, she began to fall in love with him. However she felt she couldn't be forward about her feelings for him due to her social standing as a peasant and didn't want to drag him down after hearing how hard he worked to be a soldier.

However she was surprised to hear Renard asking her for a job. When she asked why he explained that despite the mages intensive healing, the extent of his injury meant he couldn't be a soldier anymore. He remarked that he could've gotten a training job, but he chose to stay with Agatha due to having feelings for her as well. He also promised to use his soldier pension to help pay off the debts and help her on the farm for saving his life. Upon hearing such sincere words she immediately hired him.

Once Renard was deemed fit enough to be discharged, Renard moved in with Agatha on her farm. Due to his injury he couldn't do the heavy work that was expected on the farm, however Agatha didn't mind as she could easily do the heavy lifting while Renard managed the finances of the farm as well as do gardening of herbs and spices. This work relationship was unique in that the roles of the farm was inverted compared to the other farmers at the time. During this time they taught each other skills they would never have learned such as Renard teaching Agatha about finances and literature and she teaching him farming and cooking techniques.

After a few years they paid off the debt, and a month later Renard and Agatha got married. Unusual for the time Agatha's farm was still technically hers and retained her family name of Beaumont, but she wanted to share it with the man of her life and continued the work lifestyle she and Renard had developed together.

A few months later they would have a daughter named Aurelie who would follow in her father's step, eventually going further to become the Captain of the Guard. Although Agatha worries quite a bit for Aurelie, she is just as proud of her daughter as her husband and gives words of encouragements whenever Aurelie feels overwhelmed by her duties.
