So, I'm curious... Did you paint the red after antiquing the rest? I'm just not sure how you're creating that gorgeous effect. Same with the orange/tan and red on your other awesome works.

Feel free not to share your trade secrets if you don't wish to. I'll understand.

I have no secrets at all - only those who fear competition have trade secrets!
I dye the leather straight after the tooling with alcohol-based dye from ROC and then use Fiebing's antique finish and an additional wax/finish ( I am just trying around with the latter - so far I always used my own wax, but I look for something that protects the antique finish a bit better.)

Thank you! No, I use alcoholic dyes for the colors and antique finish and wax for the finishing.
