Description
THis is for my 200th Watcher, Sessy. It's a picture of her character, Neith Kia (Sessy's name on Gaia is Neith Kia).The CG killed me. I did it in basically two sittings, one of them at was almost ten hours. I apologize in advance for any addition-layer abuse and the lack of any colors aside from gold and blue. I will now go hug my pencils. I've owed this for almost a year now. Oops.

Your dress design looks very nice, and I look all of your coloring, but only one thing is bothering me. The stomach looks sorta rubbery/elastic-y. Maybe it's just me.

XD I have this tendency always to imagine pirates with green coats because my pirate char has a green coat!
That cape looks all right becuase I did it third, before I ran out of energy. ^_^;

I've always liked dark blue for a Captain's coat.... unless we're talking about the Red Pirate, then it has to bed black! (har har, it's actually black and red

Absolutely amazing piece. I'm naturally drawn to such amazing clothing designs and time spent on detail - and this, I can tell, you put ALOT of work into. The folds of the dress are entrancing, not to mention the way her cloak is bunched in the back. Can I safely assume you draw from real life in order to make clothing seem so real? Well done!

... I actually don't draw from real life outside of art class (and I haven't had an art class for three years - d'oh!), this one came from my imagination - which is why there are so many anatomy mistakes, haha. It's true tha tI put an extoriating amount of work into it, though, haha... I learned a lot on drawing folds from just looking at fabrics and how they interact with the environment (I just look, not really draw-what-I'm-looking-at) as well as from a nifty little tutorial at [link] but I'm not sure it's still up.

Ah, it was small. xD; A contest for drawing my HP character, Louis Ikutsan? I think you drew him dueling another professor in a sort of stained-glass style. It was awesome - I loved it to death and I still think I have it saved along with the very first pics I recieved of him.

Ah, now I remember. I liked that character. I'm such a closet HP fangirl... Haha. Whoa. XD; You liked it? It was hard to do, the composition. I have to admit the stained glass was my attempt at making my life easier since stained-glass relys more on the lineart than the coloring, the latter of which takes three times as long as the former. My mom printed out a copy, and I have no idea what she did with it.

It's really lovely and it doesn't look cg'd at all, but rather fully traditional. I love all the gorgeous detail in the dress. Beautiful work!

You could probably save the waist - more shadowing on the torso to make her look just a bit more slender - unless she's the stocky beanpole type
But the pencil/CG job (I can TELL) is very lovely. I like the skirt, but the way the top's designed I like it better because I'm WEIRD THAT WAY.

I actually.. don't like my dress or top design. Like, I think I put too much into them. I like those simple dresses that just flatter the body but are very subtle txture-wise, like you'd find at the Oscars. SO elegant. <3

o_o This doesn't look CG'd to me...it really doesn't. XD XD I love I love that skirt that she's got! All the gold and blueness...and those little stripes...it reminds me of fresh squid, especially how nice and shiny it is. X3 I like all of her other adornaments too, like the "outer skirt thing" (folds *o*) and the blueish holed upperarmthing and those spirals on the lowest skirt...hmm, I think I see an "A" in there, but that probably wasn't entirely intended.

How is this a CG?! It looks so natural, really looks like traditional media. I don't know if that's what you were going for, but it's awesome. The details on her ensemble are gorgeous as well.

XD OH, haha. Guess I forgot to explain that. Woe's patented confused-everybody technique. That's what it is, lol. The colors are CGed. the lineart and the shading (well, about half the shading) Is mechanical pencil. I set the actual grayscale art (which can basically stand alone if I were lazy enough) as a multiply layer, then color on standard layers underneath it - not just flats, though, colors that, if I took off the mutliply layer would still look like a (really really really sloppy) painting. Howver, for shiny things, I use an addition layer on top. OpenCanvas, mind you. X3 <3 Thank you.
