Also plz nobody be creepy, I know what kind of people pregnancy pictures can attract >.>
Something I worked on to unwind from commissions a little.
[Added a little story segment from "A Tomorrow of Our Own" I'm working on ~ ]
He was startled when she suddenly grabbed her stomach with both hands, sitting up straight. Guy stared worriedly. "What's wrong? Is it the baby?"
Eep just shook her head vigorously. "Nothings wrong, at least… I don't think so."
"Should I get your mom?" He immediately got ready to stand up, muscles tense and mind running.
"No," she told him firmly, rubbing one hand down a specific spot on her swollen torso, the middle. "Guy, the baby's moving I think."
"Already?" Guy inquired incredulously, crouching back down on his knees. His eyes went between her and where their baby dwelled.
"It's not a kick or anything, I don't know how to explain it," she huffed, frustrated. She instead of wasting time finding the words, just yanked on his hand to put it on the spot hers had been. "There. Right there, can you feel it?"
Guy moved his hand a bit, trying to feel what Eep was talking about. Eventually he rested his other palm against the opposite side of her abdomen. He strained to focus, to feel something but there was nothing. Disappointment immediately filled him but before he could draw away he finally felt something very faintly brush under his hands.
His breath hitched and he heard Eep do the same, not daring to move. He pressed down a little harder, making sure not to hurt his wife and the unborn inside.
He felt the soft flutter of movement against his palms, reminding him of a butterfly's wings. Slowly, he pressed his cheek and ear against her belly, feeling the shifting sensation stronger. A rush of emotion and affection came over him like a tidal wave. His eyes felt moist and he couldn't help but blink a tear, heart thumping fast with a new kind of adrenaline.
"Wow," was all he could think to say, almost reverently. He drew away but let his hands rub gentle patterns against the swell of her stomach. Eep covered his hands with hers, holding tightly.
"I've never felt it move before," she said, sounding awed. Guy pressed a kiss against her knuckles where their hands were joint tightly together.
"I'm glad it's healthy," Guy said gently, beaming at her. She glowed in that soft way only mothers could, Guy could almost feel the warm light roll of her like the sun.
