Description A watercolor for a local exibition. Masking things is tedious, so fallen leaves were done with a pallet knife. One of these days, I may just revert back to finger painting, hohoho

A pallet knife? What is that? By the way, this is gorgeous.

Thank you! Well, I felt that painting aroundΒ  or using masking fluid for countless individual leaves would look contrived and fake, so I took some yellow ochre and spread it around like butter. The color is pretty opaque and it sits over the transparent pavement. also, its too much of a bother to paint them individually xD

Wonderful. Thank you for explaining. (And sorry to answer so late...)

Ha, no need to be sorry, for I am the uncrowned king of late replies xD Also, I just realized I have misread your question: a pallet knife is a small triangular looking spatula of sorts used for mixing oil paint on the pallet, and smearing it straight onto the canvas. That is how one gets all those rough, heavily textured oil paintings.

Er, you know actually I knew that, more like wanted to know how you used it. So I asked wrongly, and YOU'RE A PSYCHIC.
