Mei is from a realm that is entirely similar to Feudal China called Yònghéng. She was born from a forbidden relationship between a human Minister and a human jeweler. She grew up with her mom in the Earth District. However, she was murdered and dumped in the Grave District at the age of 21. Ten years later, the present day, she became a Jiangshi who wanted to be reunited with her mother and find her killer. However, she is afraid of dying for real.
