Description Thranduil is such a warm-hearted, generous and modestly dressed fellow; when he saw all those screaming, burning dwarves, he didn't hesitate a moment but turned his back on them instantly...

I swear I was keeping track of how many times I wanted to punch Thranduil in the face throughout Desolation of Smaug and Bofta.

The only time I wanted to hit Thranduil was when he had that embarassing "Because it was real" line - unlike his screentime stealing son ( since 2001),
but that's nothing new...

a really great picture

just one question. I've seen the first and third hobbit film and i roughly know whats happening in the 2nd film
but when did thorin ask for the elves help or when did thranduil turn his back on the suffering of the dwarves?

Thank you!

Erm - I'm not sure if I fully understand your question, but this picture is mocking a scene from the prologue of the first movie.

I feel myself obligated to protest about the 'warm-hearted' and 'generous' issues. let us not mix Peter Jackson's elves with Tolkien's. From the book, Thranduil has a quite different behavior in both of these aspects. ... Toward his people and those of Esgaroth at least. x_x

See, that's why I draw the movie Thranduil; because I am mocking the movie Thranduil.

Tolkien's Hobbit elves behave at their worst moments like a bunch of Peter Pans, contradicting their portrayal in Lotr and Silmarillion.

LOL Thranduil, your so mean XD *I'm not implying he's evil, because there really is no say if he's good or not, so that would be an undefended proposation*

The King of Mirkwood in a nutshell.
Is it just me or is Thranduil the worst self-righteous prick of the Hobbit Movieverse?
Guys like Smaug and Azog are at least honest about being the bad guys.

Depends on how he will develop in the next movie - but he certainly will be a finalist for the title.

And he took a whole army with him just to say "no"

Thranduil is the biggest ass so far in that story - at least the others believe in what they do, evil or not. He's just plain an egoistic, selfish, narcistic bastard. I hope someone's gonna smash off the other side of his face as well. Just to create a nice balance on both sides. Gosh, I love him.

Yes, he is quite a cool looking bastard. But my favorite will always by Feanor. Went against all the gods at once and started just about every war the elves have ever fought in almost single-handedly, over 3 jewels. I feel sorry for poor Thorin in this one.

Ah, I never liked Feanor. I wanted to hit him with something all the time while reading Silmarillion.
