Nightngalethroat is a Rosemaryclan's "healer", son of Rosemarywatcher [the clan leader, his father] and Soaringleaf. [His mother]

Nightngalethroat was born blind, so his father was willing to kill him in rage for having a "defective son".But Soaringleaf and other queens tried to protect the helpless kit as they could, but Rosemarywatcher would do that anyways, and would also kill the other kits due to the betrayal of the queens

But Rosemaryclan was surprised by an attack from Thistleclan, what would get the clan's healer and loads of warriors killed. After the battle, the leader decided to keep his son alive so he could fill in the role of healer, since he "Could never be a warrior." anyways, and the other kits as well since they were the "backup" for the next genaration of warriors.

However, Soaringleaf and the other queens payed a huge price for what they've done, and Nightngalethroat would have a miserable life from now on.

Even though he is a "healer" at name, he is a warrior by body and heart. Nightngale always sneaks out of camp to do patrols and go hunting with his friends, he also practices fighting techniques everyday. Sure, he knows about herbs too, but he's not as interested in them as much as his co-healer (Or rather saying, full-time substitute.) Besides, since Lindenmuzzle became the second healer, he was pratically left out while healing his clanmates, having nothing to do in his clan at all.

Nightngalethroat dreams of proving to his clan he is more than just "A blind cat", that they should see him for who he is, not only for what he is.
