Side note. Beerus' referring to Goku and Vegeta who fought Beerus first before being kicked to the curb.

So this is a scene from My Guardian-Verse Stories and takes place when Beerus first comes to Nexus-Earth. Now why is Broly not in his Legendary State? Well that's due to the fact that this takes place Before he unlocked that form which at this point is 6 months from now during The Infinity War Saga, this is The Battle of Gods and Heroes Arc. It plays out a lot like the Movie however with some differences.

1: The obvious fact this is a Shared Crossover Universe and thus there are more people fighting Beerus.

2: Super Saiyan God does NOT exist in The Guardian-Verse, instead Beerus is made aware of The Legendary Super Saiyan possibly being on Nexus-Earth but is not sure as to Who it is upon arriving on the planet. Thus fighting all of the saiyans on the planet to see which one could be The Legendary Super Saiyan. Goku and Vegeta at first seem like the most obvious candidates but much like in the movie, they don't really hold up much. Granted unlike the anime, Goku holds up a bit better (Lasting about 20 seconds longer than his mainstream counterpart and Vegeta goes SSJ3 against Beerus, actually managing to draw blood from The GoD before also being taken down) this sparks a fight between Beerus and The Guardians of Freedom, many of who also get their butts whooped before Broly enters the picture and sensing that this saiyan could be the one of Legend, Beerus toys with him.

That is until he pisses Broly off and forces him to go SSJ and is shocked by the fact that the saiyan's blows are actually hurting rather than tickling, the only other ones who managed to do that were Thor, Superman, Hulk and Wonder Woman.

Once Beerus stops playing around however he then proceeds to beat them all anyway.

He then goes onto state that for their valiant efforts in fighting him he'll make the destruction of the world swift.

Beerus kinda forgot that he and the other GoD's weren't allowed to blow up Nexus-Earth and lets just say had Zeus and Odin not arrived. Beerus would have been reminded of that little arrangement by This Guy.

(Godzilla Nexus) and it would have ended with there being one less GoD while not a bad thing, it would have caused a few complications with the higher ups as GoD's do serve as apart of The Cosmic Balance, typically destroying Dead or Dying Worlds overcome by Demonic Influence or the threat of an Icon of Sin was apparent on said world buuuuuuuuuuuut they've slacked over the eons due to Michael (The Archangel)'s absence.

It should also be noted that usually if an Icon of Sin is involved the GoD's will handle the situation since they know that if one goes rampant it could overpower them but thanks to Doom Slayer's work in Hell the IoS's have been kept at bay.

So yeah he kinda got lucky. XDDD It should be noted that the other heroes mentioned before hand do get stronger to the point that they can take on GoD's who are above usually above Mortals but are Below Skyfathers who are either Tied or Below Cosmic Level Gods IE Galactus, Celestials ect.
