Fourth of the adventurers captured by Necron was Lysandrus. A accomplished but
young rogue who also dabbled in the profession of a ranger. Jovial and with a
infectious humor he made friends with just about everyone he met. During one of his
many outings though, he met a knight who had gotten lost in the forest. Thinking to
make a quick bit of coin and fleece the knight, he prepared for his scam, but the
moment his eyes and the eyes of the knight met, he was smitten by love for the
handsome man and they have been together ever since. Love truly was at first sight for
the young man for he saw his soulmate in the eyes of the knight, and the knight
reciprocated in kind. Of course they still had to get to know each other, but the two
went on many adventures together and bonded.
Quick and nimble, he was responsible for getting past the many traps hidden in
Necron's necropolis. He managed to bypass or disarm all of them, except of course
the one that captured him and his allies. His body and soul were infused into the egg of
a green dragon. The last thing he saw before his body was turned into mystical energy
was the fearful look of his lover shouting, "I love you!".
When he hatched from the egg, Baum, as he is now known, was the smallest of all of
his brethren. However, he made up for it with his extreme agility and cunning. He could
fly circles around his siblings and was the first one who learned how to fly. Even now,
few can match his acrobatic prowess in the air, and he still can fly circles around his
brethren. Even bereft of his memories from his adventuring days he still felt a deep
connection to the black dragon of the group. Even through their formative years, he
and the black dragonspawn would be seen cuddled up to one another as they slept.
Their affection deepened as the got older and they were never far from one another
even when sent out on missions for Necron.
Baum is adept at both the bow and dagger. He uses both to deadly affect and can
sometimes be seen flitting amongst the trees in any forest. He uses guile and cunning
to corner his prey, sometimes they don't even know they’re being hunted. When they
did know, he would harry them for countless hours, enjoying their fear as they got
weaker as they grew tired. Baum can breathe out a cloud of highly poisonous gas that
causes a violent cough, nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness, headache, chest pain,
abdominal discomfort and burning of the eyes. Depending on how strong his prey was,
he would either dose them first, or let them free to run within the forests as the
hovering cloud slowly sapped their strength. He would also use the cloud of poison to
keep himself hidden before stabbing his target in the back or peppering them with
arrows from the trees. It all depends on what mood he is in.
The pendant he wears around his neck is a symbol of his love for his mate, the black
dragon. It is a black dragon circled around a stunning green emerald. It is his most
prized possession and he never takes it off. If anyone so much as looks at it with
greedy intent, Baum will make their short lives the most miserable moments they have
ever experienced. It is also slightly magical and affords him protection from any type of
acid. Handy when your mate can breath out a cone of the stuff.
The night of the city raid as his old self began to reawaken his eyes fell upon the form
of the black dragonspawn close by and he knew immediately that he was still his lover
from back before they had become what they were today. As his head pounded with
the influx of a previous lifetime, his arms held onto his mate for dear life and as a sort
of anchor. His head hurt so much, but as long as he had the black dragonspawn, he
knew he would be okay. The strong arms of the black held him close and guided him to
where they were going.
They made it to the shallow cave that had been chosen as a fall back point and the two
slumped down onto the floor of the cave as his headache grew worse. Their other
siblings were not far behind and one by one they dropped as their psyches were torn
and reformed into what they had been before. He lost consciousness, but the very last
thing he heard from his mate before blacking out was, "I love you."
