Meet Reck and Bryne, two cyberneticly enhanced genetically engineered boys who started out as a normal Mako Shark and Orca before chance (or fate) brought them to where they are now.

Reck was a normal Mako shark just swimming around doing what Mako sharks do in the ocean before being snagged by a deep sea fisherman. Normally that would have ended it right then and there but this guy was a sadistic and mean spirited individual who not only kept the shark alive but shot harpoons into him while he was trapped in the net he was caught in. Bloodied and in a great amount of pain he somehow escaped but, still clinging to life, ended up being caught by someone else.

This someone was a geneticist, Dr. Kennith Thompson, who took pity on the shark and despite everything he could do was not able to save its life...at least not in his current form. Enter Dr. Thompson's boyfriend, Dr. Kyo Nakada a brilliant cybernetics engineer. Together they turned the shark into what he is now using a bit of tiger shark and human DNA, saving his life in the process. The change along with the cybernetic enhancements to his brain caused him to attain sentience in the process.

The two doctors began raising Reck as a son and began teaching him various things. Human culture, history, math, science...Reck learned it all due to his increased brain power and was soon doing things a twelve year old child would have been expected to do. This didn't last as he quickly began learning more and more and soon, along with his "parents" wisdom and morality taught the young shark right from wrong.

It was about three months later as they were out on a small excursion into the ocean with Reck that a small pod of killer whales happened to be in the waters. Reck became fascinated and, still acting like a kid, wanted to play with the large orca's. It was then that he noticed a small orca calf struggling to keep up with his pod. It had been left behind as the others chased salmon to eat. Reck swam over to the little guy and brought it to the scientists. The baby orca didn't even seem to struggle in Reck's arms. The two took the little guy in and thought it would be nice to give their "son" someone to keep him company.

The same process later and the muscular orca, Bryne came into being. Reck and Bryne would become inseparable from then on. The two would be seen swimming, playing and just acting like two brothers who deeply loved one another. Bryne's personality was still vastly different than his brothers though. Where Reck was extroverted, high spirited and playful, Bryne was more reserved and loved to read a lot more. Still he loved being with his brother and working out together was a pastime they both enjoyed.

The two eventually began training in various tasks that they were uniquely qualified to do. Reck loved to help out people no matter who they were and during a rather rough storm a Cargo ship delivering much needed supplies to the island they lived on was hit by a rogue wave and capsized. This of course would have been the end of everyone on that ship but the two boys happened to be in the area. Reck immediately began rounding up the crew onto pieces that would still float as Bryne began to keep away any sea predators. Soon everyone was on dry land and alive. Salvage operations commenced a few days later as the boys used their abilities to help speed the process along. The cargo was saved and the island residents came out in droves to thank the scientists and the two "sons".

Eventually news of them spread to the mainlands and pretty soon the governments got involved and each wanted the two for their own. However, the two quickly made it clear they they would belong to no group but instead would enlist with the GMLEA (Global Marine Law Enforcement Agency), a sort of global coast guard. This was deemed to be a good choice as the talents the two possessed would be used for the greater good of all.

Reck and Bryne both wear a outfit that not only protects their vitals but provides them with some other useful tools. Their bracers house plasma cutting torches, the back of the breastplate has mini turbines that can increase their speed in the water. The visors are actually hard light HUD systems that project some detailed information, such as depth, current strength and direction, digital maps of various ships and other useful data. The fins on Reck can be hardened, surpassing the strength of steel and used as blades. Both of the boys dorsal fins can also be made like this and have razor sharp edges so they can actually swim under boats and cut them apart. Good for stopping criminals at sea in their tracks. Their speedos are also armored but flexible...gotta protect the goods after all.
