So, this drawing itself is not mine. This drawing is official Frozen Teardrop artwork, by Sakura Asagi.I did however, color this artwork myself. I was really curious to see this illustration in color. This illustration is from the novel, Gundam Wing Frozen Teardrop, and features Katrina Peacecraft, Relena Peacecraft's grandmother, and the colony leader Heero Yuy.... And they look exactly like our Relena and Heero. Strange... I always thought the gundam pilot Heero Yuy was no relation to the colonial leader Heero Yuy... then again, FT has retconned a lot of things.
Oh well, this was interesting to me at least!

asagi is said to have the tendency to draw the character very similar to each other-especially the males, even when they are not related. in fact, heero yui colonial hero, looks like an older heero yui gundam pilot and even like heero's "adoptive" step-father of sort, the killer who took huim under his wing.

They dolook very similar to them, but personalities will be different from each other.

It was sort-of established in the manga of GW that the colonial leader was the grandfather of the Gundam pilot, and that the elder was friends with Relena's grandmother.

FT doesn't count as Canon though, so it's all... Decidedly mediocre.

It's not. By decree of Bandai, only animated materials count as canon.
So-- AT BEST. Evolve 7 kinda counts.
But FT, battlefield of pacifists, blind target, ground zero.. none of those count.
Episode Zero counts tentatively because they were gonna animate it anyway--- supposedly.

I was also shocked by Katrina Peacecraft and the colony leader
Heero Yuy's resemblance to our Heero and Relena! 
from what I read in Frozen Teardrop, Odin Lowe is Heero's father.
And had no relation to the colony Heero Yuy after all, unless the novel
reveals something later on.

Yeah, the resemblance is crazy! To me, it just cements 1xR more as cannon! 
I haven't read too much of Frozen Teardrop... I know very little japanese, and even less of the kanji, hiragana, and katakana, so I had to wait for the scanlators, but that is slow in coming.
I think I understand that the colony leader is Heero's uncle... or great uncle.... or something. But then again, things seem to change with every issue, so who knows!

This is so bizarre! As I said in a FF.net forum, it would be totally gross if it turned out that "our" Heero is related to *this* Heero... much more so if Heero #1 had relations with Relena's grandmother! That would mean that Heero and Relena have a Luke/Leia thing going on! Yuckyyyy!

It totally is bizarre! I have no idea what Sumisawa is thinking at the moment, but according to the latest chapter, Katrina has a thing for diplomat Heero... which is cool and super weird all at once! My understanding is that diplomat Heero is Heero's uncle or great uncle or something... (either brother to or uncle to Heero's mom, Aoi Clark), so yeah, a lot of fans have wondered (in my case, have been slightly concerned) that Heero and Relena are distant cousins somehow. Buuuuut, to be honest, I think that any romance between Katrina and diplomat Heero is going to get super complicated somehow and Katrina will marry a blue blood on earth.
I have no clue though! >.< All I have to say is the whole Luke/Leia possibility better not happen!!! EWww!!!
