Excellent composition and layout of the images. It speaks the message very clearly. Has anyone noticed how over the past month, the number of negative images of Obama have overtaken the number of positive images? I think people are waking up... slowly, but waking up.

a few things here, just thoughts opinions and such.

For the majority of the previous eight years (with the greatest exception being the last two) both the Senate, House and White House were chaired by Republicans who like the Democrats now rubber stamped their legislation into law without any oversight whatsoever. Every politician in history preaches " 'CHANGE!' Things will be better!" etc. (and its not just in America either)

Have you noticed that year after year decade after decade its the same things being pushed by both parties? Social Security reform, education, jobs, etc. If things were actually done correctly in Washington one would think that eventually we could change the subject matter of political campaigns. I have yet to see evidence by either party suggesting this has happened or is happening now. It is my opinion that I'll believe change has come to America when it changes my life directly as a result of his execution of his policies. Which will obviously be for better or worse. But fact is even if a Republican had won we wouldn't know if it was a good choice or not until well after we made it. So to say it was automatically a bad choice, isn't right. One would have to go with the information known about the person or group seeking election at the time.

I would agree with you, that people do not conduct enough of their own research and question those who run for elected office, but to imply that everyone is blind and ignorant just because they prefer someone of another party in office which would seem to me to be the case here is a fallacy in my opinion. Fact is that both parties have a very poor track record of actually doing anything for the middle class lately.

As far as emotion goes, BOTH parties are guilty of using our fears against us, "if you elect my opponent THE WORLD WILL END!" Etc. This is nothing new and people need to look at FACTS and decide if they agree or disagree with actual information and not the whims of propaganda and the plucking of ones emotional strings.

As to the race card, without a doubt mentioned by Fire-of-Heaven, yes it is inevitable that some people voted for him just because he's black, but by the same token there were inevitably white people who DIDN'T vote for him because he was black. People make choices on who they vote for based on their reasons and that is there freedom to do so. Do I think its kind of narrow minded to use the specific of race as the one and only reason to vote for someone, sure but if that's what their deciding factor is for them then so be it. They are not "wrong" although one would hope they would not just use race as a way to justify a vote.

In addition I thought you did an excellent job on the picture even if I can't say I agree with the theme

Great picture, though I think it would have been slightly better if you wouldn't have used Lenin, and, instead, used the Paulson picture where he's artistically drawn to look like Lenin. [link]

ahh well, it still gets the point across.

Sadly, I have a feeling in a couple of years even if Republicans fill a lot of seats, it won't mean much--we need some real Constitutionalists and Libertarians in office, no left/right collectivism.

Nice, first time I actually see this Paulson pic, however, I am going to disagree with you, in my opinion, this Paulson pic has allot of darker colours in it, while my pic above focuses more on blue and red, unless I were to add blue to the Paulson pic, which on the other hand would work nicely, but then again, the art style above does not correspond with the Paulson pic, so unless the Paulson pic is edited in a view ways, I would say my pic is fine as it is. Or would you still suggest otherwise?

you're probably right, as it wouldn't have the same viewing angle and effect on the overall picture, which could potentially ruin it.

Your pic looks pretty good--I don't think it really needs changing.

Heh, I agree with Kolorbomb.

People just won't realize what they've done until it's too late.

Hopefully in two years we can get many more Republican seats in - even if you're not conservative, it would definitely even things out and give HIM less of an ability to do anything too devastating. Although with Clinton as secretary of state or whatever he wants to make her... >_>;;

Sad to me how the American people gave their country to , according to me, foreign hands, but I think the by now "infamous" GW Bush played a big part on people's opinion on the Republican party and thus more likely fall in favour of the Democratic party with Obama preaching change, which everyone wants, but do they really know what change Obama will brings, that is the question, people jump too easily just hearing the word change, automatically thinking, a change for the better and according to some part of what they themselves see as better, without actually taking the time think for a moment, and question, people definitely do not question enough I think, they just give their silent obedience automatically and without second thoughts.

Fire-of-Heaven In reply to Wolfe87 [2008-11-25 06:21:30 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. What really bothers me is that a lot of people voted for Obama because he's black. To be honest, I'm kind of happy that a black guy got voted into office, but at the same time I'm just... loathing the fact that he's the black guy that would eventually get voted into president. Time Warner Cable made a pretty silly commercial of people saying who they were going to vote for because s/he was "handsome," "pretty," had "nice pantsuits," a "strong jaw" et cetera, and really, how different are those ridiculous reasons to vote for someone than voting for them because of their race? It's like the American society doesn't even know what politics are anymore. Most of us just go "hooray liberal" or "yay conservative" and they know the main points (sometimes) but I feel like so many people vote for people they are emotionally drawn to. .-. Sure, Obama's really charismatic and seems like a funny guy, but his politics... I just don't get it.

Oh I've seen how Obama works on emotion in his campaign, whether it is something non political, it does get aired on the media and Obama has had a few times where he dwells on emotion concerning a late family members or otherwise related to personal emotion, which then, if or if not intended as such, touches the general public which swings in his favour. And concerning race, it matters not, to me it's more about who the heck the person actually is and what he or she stands for, which seems, like you said, to pass the public by unnoticed.

Fire-of-Heaven In reply to Wolfe87 [2008-11-25 20:42:46 +0000 UTC]

So true. =/ A radio station did a bunch of street interviews with people in Chicago (I believe) that would go something like, "So who are you voting for? (Obama.) You know, critics say that a lot of people are voting for Obama simply because he's black. So what do you like more about his policies, the fact that he wants to keep our troops in Iraq or that he's against abortion? (Oh, I'd say staying in Iraq is a good decision... they're both good) Or the fact that he's opposed to stem cell research? (Oh, yeah, I wouldn't do that stem... yeah, either.) Okay, so if Obama gets voted into office, what do you think about his VP elect Sarah Palin? (I think he made a good choice, she's a good person.)" And with all of that the people they were interviewing didn't even KNOW that Obama is ANYTHING BUT what they asked them about. Obama go elected purely on the votes of the uneducated, just because he throws the word "Change" around and sounds nice. It's just stupid.
