So what happened was, there was time travel shenanigans and poor ol' Hawkeye got left back in the Old West for a bit. He decided a perfect disguise would be throwing his shirt and mask away.

Yeah, dude, you fit right in. The Avengers came back and found Shirtless McGoo over here kickin' with a bunch of leather clad cowboys.

When he went back to his own time period, he kept one cowboy as a pet. But he promised Thor he'd feed and walk it. No, seriously, he totally took a cowboy, The Two-Gun Kid, back home with him.
