This version of Apo can be found at SourceForge. I do believe there is a newer version than this out now, version 2.09.

It also has the download for Apo 2.02 which I think you need to install 2.02 first (that is the backbone of Apo and the other versions just update this one). Then there is a link to the beta versions: [link]
This version is down under the Apophysis 3D folder.

I can't seem to make it do anything other than some cloudy dust images that don't make a lot of sense, any tips for me?

Try downloading some of the flame packs for Apo and tweaking what's there. Often you need to play with the variations and size of the triangles to "pull" the image into shape. A lot of times, you can send the image in to dust or sometimes complete darkness. Some variations are very sensitive and need to be in the right place and the right size to show up. I really think tweaking some well done flames would be a good place for you to start. Check out . They have a lot of flamepacks to download. Find one you like and then give it a whirl. Let me know how it goes. I'll help if I can.
