Description This is my submission for next week's Apophysis WTC - Free For All. This would have been my submission to the Apophysis WTC for this week - May Flowers. However, on Sunday morning, a bad storm ( called a derecho by The Weather Channel) blew through and knocked out the power AND the phone service (including my DSL). I never got a chance to vote for last week's or submit for this week. The power did not come back on until Tues around 4:45 pm and the phone did not come back on until about 6:00 pm on Wed. I never realized how dependent I was on internet connection, but I really felt cut off from the rest of the world. Anyway, all is well, now.

I dedicate this picture to my mother for Mother's Day. She lives about 300 miles from me and I miss her a lot. Before Hurricane Katrina, I saw her often. Now, not so much. I love her very much and I wish her a very Happy Mother's Day, as I do to all you mothers out there.

This was done in Apophysis 2.08 3D. I tweaked an old flame (that almost sounds dirty), in which I had used the 3D flowers script by Shortgreenpigg .

This has a lovely atmosphere ... the forms and the colours make for great flowers and the overall shape and subtle differences in bloom's tilt suggests meadow slopes. Usually I don't enjoy gridded surfaces but the flower centres remind me of daisy centres and it works well.
Thanks!

Seeing this beautiful image reminds me of part of Aldous Huxley's description of what he saw during his first experience of mescaline; "..a bunch of flowers shining with their own inner light and all but quivering under the pressure of the significance with which they were charged.."

Thank you so much for the lovely compliment! And I appreciate the link. At least that person linked the image back to the original and did not claim it as their own. I don't mind people posting my work on another site, as long as I get the credit for it. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and if you would like to learn how to do fractal art, note me. I am more than willing to share information and send you links for some of the free software. This image was made with a program called Apophysis and it is totally free and there are plenty of resources for it. It's one of my favorite programs. If you would like to learn, I might be able to point you in the right direction to get you started. I am always happy to help people discover the joy of fractal art!
