Description I made this for the new UF Challenge mentioned by in this news article:
[link]

It says:
February's challenge will be a Theme challenge - its title being Flower Power!

Fractal flowers are quite commonly seen in UF galleries, but of course we don't want a flower that can be seen everywhere, do we?
In this challenge, what I ask of you is to create "hippy" flowers, flowers that can really bring us back to the good ol' 80s, shining with reminiscences of the flower children. Be sure to make gorgeous, sparkling, happy compositions.
No formula restriction on this one: go with whatever you may like and give us your best shot. I made the first challenge more flexible on purpose so as to welcome all of you to create basing on your personal style and ways.

This is about as hippy as you can get, but the decade is actually the 70s, not the 80s. The 80s were more disco and leisure suits. Ah, but the 70s - flower children, Woodstock and the trippiest art! I hope this brings you back.

Made in UF5 and psotwork done in Serif's PhotoPlus X4.

These are so fun! They remind me of the flowers I used to make with my "Fun Flowers" machine back in the 60s.

You're right, must've been confused with the count of centuries, which go one number forward (e.g. the XVI century actually begins in 1501)
Good old 1968, I guess it was where it all started Thanks for pointing that out.

Yes, you're right! It all started in the late 60s and screamed through the 70s. I actually remember most of it. I started college in 1967 and graduated in 1971. Then I spent my young adulthood reveling in the 70s. It was an amazing era!

Must've been really a good one
I'm not unhappy with being born in the digital era though. Guess everyone's happy of their own time after all (I'm from the 90s )

Oh, you're just a youngster! I'm probably old enough to be your grandmother! But, that's all right. Art does not have an age limit! I didn't even start doing fractals til I was almost in my 60s.

Hmm, I think your age is halfway between my parents' and my grandparents', since I'm 18 but I was born when they were quite "old" already, for the average of those days. But I agree age never knows limits. Not to mention, fractal art is a relatively new phenomenon, so it's only natural that you couldn't start until that age. But who cares about the bygone times? Learning from them is fine, but they have no influence on the future after all, which is still all the game of life to play!
