I chose the “Draw a Rock Band” number out of the 100 Technique Meme assignment. When I thought of rock bands, I immediately thought of Dethklok from the animation Metalocalypse. It airs on Adult Swim and has season DVDs available for purchase.

This is not an animation for everyone. If you can’t handle a lot of disturbing content and gore, you should steer clear. There is a bloodbath in every episode. But to counter such brutality, there is a lot of humor involved. And there is some sexual content. Overall, it’s to depict the band lifestyle and since Dethklok is a death metal band, it is pretty hard core.

In addition to this band being in this animation, Dethklok is also a real band. They do the music for each episode. If I’m not mistaken, some of the creators (or all) is in the band or can play an instrument. I would recommend watching it at least once to see if you’d enjoy it.
