Personality: Shining Star is a charismatic colt who'd much rather spend time with friends than to read a dusty book. He hopes to be in the Royal Guard one day, but many of his peers tell him he won't be able to because he's different. His friend's tell him not to listen to those idiots and to follow his dreams, which always makes him feels happy. He loves his mother, but dislikes his father because of his chaotic nature.

Personality: Always a happy colt, Zap Apple loves playing in his family's orchard and creating games out of chores with his aunt Applebloom. He hardly gets to see his father, as Applejack banned him from visiting the farm after he jokingly made all the apples in the orchard turn into oranges, so he doesn't know much about him. He loves spending time with his uncle Big Macintosh fixing things around the farm or just watching the sun rise or set (depending on the time of day). He especially loves Zap Apple season, with all the wacky preparations and the awesome power of the zap apple trees, and would rather staying home to help with the harvest than go to a boring school lesson.
