     Little did Adrian know that when he made love to the human portion of his centaur lover that she already carried the seed from his trusty steed who was even now pacing in his paddock. The horse could sense the change in the air. War it seems, would be coming to this land and the legendary warrior Adrian would answer the call to arms. Adrian had indeed been summoned by the king but would not be denied the taste of his lover one last time before he rode off to certain death at the king’s request.
     After riding all day and night he had arrived at the house of Alexa near dawn. He placed Fidelis in the paddock and after greeting Alexa with a passionate kiss he quickly fell asleep. Alexa on the other hand wanted to greet the ironically named horse with equal passion. Fidelis was up to the task and after a few moments of nuzzling and a few excited whinnies he got about the business of siring a foal.
     Alexa reentered the house and bathed, cleansing her body of Fidelis' scent. She lay down with Adrian and smiled knowingly. It was part way through the afternoon when Alexa stirred. Adrian was slowly and expertly fondling her breasts to gently rouse her. He certainly succeeded and now that she was awake they fell into each others arms and made passionate love till well after dark. They slept and made love one final time come morning.
      Shortly after dawn Adrian mounted Fidelis, blew one final farewell kiss to the woman he loved and rode off to meet his doom among the soldiers of King Tarnak. Our story lies not with them however. Our story lies with the infants growing within Alexa.
      Centaurs are creatures born of magic and will. Mating with one can breed interesting results. Alexa knew within days that she was with child but it was not for some time that she realized that both her wombs were full. She carried her children to term and they were born at the same moment.
     From her human portion, came a boy who would be a great warrior like his father and a legendary lover like his mother. She named him Adrix, to blend her and her lover’s names. His ears had slight points to them and the light blond peach fuzz upon his head trailed down his neck and pointed down to a small tail of equal hue.
      Her foal on the other hand took after his mother. His fur was a brown so rich and dark it was nearly black. He appeared to be a normal colt, it would be only later that she would discover that he could speak and had a mind as keen as his brother’s. Not one for originality she named her brave colt Fidelex to again, join her name with the lovers she knew to be long dead.
       From the moment her “twins” were born they were inseparable. They nursed together and were weaned together. The moment they were old enough they were outside playing together. They took to exploring the woods and would spend hours just talking, retelling the tales of their fathers as there mother had told them to her children. They grew up and grew strong together. They trained together until they rode and fought as one being. They were a beautiful pair with Fidelex’ sleek brown black fur contrasted by the golden blond tail and flowing hair of his brother Adrix.
       On their eighteenth birthday they kissed their mother goodbye and rode over the horizon to the many adventures they would face and the many centaur women they would impregnate together.
        She knew she would see them again but still Alexa wept to see her beloved children ride over the hill at the end of her valley. They would become the things of legend and song, she just prayed the songs had a happy ending.
