(sorry for being long)History: Anyu was born in a Inuit village near the arctic circle. He has always had this talent with taming animals easily. At the age of 15, Anyu began his training as a hunter. With the help of his ability, he was rather successful in his hunts. When he was 16, he went out to a hunt at the edge of the woods near the ocean. There he spied a rare sight, a large white wolf with black eye patches. Just the size was amazing enough. Anyu decided that he was going to tame this creature as well, and show the village how much of a hunter he was. He wished to catch the beast with his bare hands like a real man but set up a trap just in case. He really wanted to catch this animal. Anyu slowly snuck up behind the wolf but it heard him right before Anyu jumped and the two began to brawl. Anyu could see that he could not capture this wolf with his hands so he lured it into the trap. The trap snared around the animals neck and it was trapped between two trees.
Over the next few weeks, Anyu visited the wolf, fed it, cleaned up the area it was tied up too, and tried to use his ability to befriend the beast. Anyu had believed it might be hopeless, until one day the beast did not growl at him but actually wagged its tail. Anyu could not believe it. He untied the wolf, till having a rope around its neck, and brought back the wolf to his village. He could not kept the canine in the village because it attacked anyone who came near it.
Anyu had to live at the edge of the village and continued to try to keep control of his wolf. He discovered the wolf was not ordinary when he took it seal hunting. Instead of staying on the ice, it jumped into the water and a killer whale popped out looking back at him. He could tell it was Tikaani because of the similar yellow wolf eyes. Luckily, Tikaani had liked Anyu enough to not leave him. Anyu kept the Tikaani's special secret to himself.
One day a pair of strange tourists stopped by his village. They shrieked when the saw Tikanni. They told the boy that he had a dangerous mythical beast in his hands and needed to get rid of it. Anyu was not going to do such a thing. He had grown fond of the wolf and was not going to kill it. Instead they told him about the dragon academy and how he could learn to control his familiar better there. Anyu considered this, then left his village without their knowledge to this Dragon Academy.

Extra: Anyu has no knowledge of the mythical world, minus the myths from his own culture.
