This is the banner of the titular nation, the leader of the Alliance for Progress (AFP) Bloc and strongest nation in the world within the 'Disunited Nations' universe. Over the remaining course of the 21st century, the United States had fallen far from grace as the world's former leading superpower. At least two civil wars erupted within its borders between 2045 and 2070. Much economic unrest had followed suit, and rampant poverty had allowed for new types of disease to wipe out many women, men and children over the years. Nations with anti-American sentiment would be drooling for the opportunity to get even with their long-time enemies, and caused further economic damage by putting in heavy embargos on important trading goods and offering exploitative bargains over mining rights within the US. America had for sure seen much better days. Despite America's collapse seemingly inevitable, certain individuals would seek ways to bring back their nation from the brink, and in the process, would transform the entire continent into something unrecognizable.

Darren Jones, a descendant of the infamous right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, would come together with Robert Musk, the grandson of legendary billionaire inventor Elon Musk and William "Bilbo" Stein, a distant cousin of hacker and international whistle-blower Julian Assange. The three met in college, became great friends and worked with one another expanding their multi-billion-dollar businesses. Seeing that America would only rot away into nothingness in a rapidly changing, multipolar world, the three moguls would come together and go into politics. Together they brought in their best talent and formed the anti-establishment political party known as Citizens for a New America (CNA). They would wage a successful political campaign across America and eventually would win in a landslide and win at both state and federal levels during the 2080 election. Their policies and ideas would lay the foundations of what would become the Amero-Structuralist movement.

Combining a radical interpretation of centrist economics, left-wing social equality, and right-wing nationalism, Amero-Structuralism was to deliver American leadership across the globe. This would include the investment of billions of dollars into technological advancement, and the protection of its interests worldwide through stronger-than-ever sanctions and dollar distribution policies. America under the influence of the CNA would however seek firm isolationism militarily and politically, all while encouraging limitless progress at all levels of American society. The long-held status quo of the Democratic and Republican parties would be shattered, as both were firmly banned by the dominant CNA after being proven to be involved in corrupt deals and policies that ruined the stability and integrity of America. The Democrats and Republicans that refused to follow the new edict were arrested, found guilty of treason and harshly punished. Members of other minority parties were marvelled by the successfully-met promises and policies of the CNA, and further swelled its ranks.

The initial rule of the CNA would come to an end, though their policies would remain popular, and thus the CNA would find themselves often re-elected in future elections and bring much prosperity and stability to their nation. The US had gone through a rebirth and aggressively re-negotiated past trade deals with other nations to get a better deal for officials and the common citizen alike. The Americans had given away or sold many of its international bases to their host nations, pressuring them to look after their own affairs and use a boost to their military stockpile. Through their intelligence agencies, the US would curb Mexican interests of expanding their territory into the Southwest, and issued a series of aggressive military and economic threats towards the latter. The exchange would bring in $58 billion dollars to the American government. Using the surplus created by a resurgent economy, the withdrawal from a global military presence, and the acquisition from Mexico, the US would construct a vast wall across the border with its southern neighbour. The wall would be 100 feet high, 15 feet thick, and be given state-of-the-art security sensors and specifically-designated guard towers across the region, complete with officers donning high-powered sniper rifles. The project began in August 2090, and would be completed by September 2094.

By 2098, politicians and intellectuals alike in Canada were inspired by Amero-Structuralism and formed groups to change the current system that had long been made rotten by the outdated establishment. They eventually came into power and initiated agreements and policies much like those that have been put into law across America. In a series of events that had the potential to threaten the existence of the Canadians and Americans, the leaders of the two countries would meet in Ottawa on 31 March 2099, and would sign the pact that would combine their countries into one greater nation, the North American States (NAS). The best and brightest of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and American intelligence agencies would form into one group, the North American Hawkeye Watch (NAHW). The former Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut would be amalgamated into one entity, Nukalvik. The Maritime provinces of Canada would join with the smaller states of the US Northeast and become the larger state of New England. The states of Oregon and Washington would form into one and become the Republic of Cascadia. These new states would be given full rights and privileges as given by the NAS constitution.

The NAS would be highly influential in the management of the creation and maintenance of the European Federation (EF), and espoused warm neutrality with the Oceanian Empire, bringing in more lucrative trade deals between the mighty regional powers. In 2102, the three entities came together and established the Alliance for Progress (AFP) Bloc and become the leading global power of the future age. The AFP promotes strong national pride and non-stop progress while enforcing technological supremacy to the world. In 2112, the NAS would annex The Bahamas and establish it as the new 50th state of the country, as an attempt to curb the constant raids conducted by the Pirate Havens, though they still continue to this day. The NAS has warmed relations with the Kingdom of Aztlan to the point of friendly competition, and has extremely positive relations with members of the Inter-Asian Treaty Group (ITG) and Third World Bloc. The NAS and the general AFP keep a wary eye on the actions of the True Sunni Caliphate, the Latin Soviet Republic (LSR), and the intergalactic-connected Empire of Akator. The AFP led by the NAS has come into rivalry with the members of the Eurasian Empowerment Pact (EFP).

As depicted by the eagle upon its flag, the NAS believes that a truly great nation is to soar beyond any past limits and bring itself to greatness, inspiring others and providing those protection if a threat has become too great upon the global community. For once, the NAS has gone past mindless jingoism of the past and put themselves in action as the leader of tomorrow's world. Unfortunately, in a world divided amongst the control of regional blocs, the NAS's message has become harder to sell than previously expected. The future is unpredictable, as the impact of a single event could bring forth glowing success or terrible catastrophe.
