Ruuuun! XDHad such fun with this one, playing with all those running poses! This is another request, this one for *MadMeeper , I realise that the horse isn't really one of your characters (I don't think) just some random horse that Cesar was riding but I wanted to draw Wolfool with Benjamin... Then decided to throw Tegan in and thought the horse would work well to balance the image! Also sorry if Benjamin's markings are wrong, used a combination of the markings in this image [link] and the ones on your Tumblr
Boring background is boring but it's characters I'm practicing at the moment so mhe... Hope you like it *MadMeeper !

c: I think this is pretty awesome! I really like how you split up the group--that is, you spaced out the horses with a wild dog between them, which I think is a nice composition choice. I also think that Wolfool's color scheme is fantastic!

Thanks! I wasn't sure how to place them to begin with, what with them being fairly similar characters but thought the darker dogs split up the pale horses nicely, so I'm glad you like it^^

So how long does it take you to come up with a piece?

I'm a slow worker unfortunately... For something like this I probably spend about an hour deciding on composition, poses and getting down the rough sketch (which is literally just a really loose bunch of lines that pretty much just show the outline of the characters) before getting the final sketch done that would include a rough idea of expression, hair, clothes etc. If it's a more complicated piece with a more detailed background, more characters or complex clothing it takes longer cause I trawl google images looking for inspiration on clothes design and environments so a sketch like that could take up to two hours but that would only be for really busy images like [link] or [link] Then about half an hour - 1 hour for flats then upwards of 2 hrs for the detail, shading and background, again depending on complexity.
Because this one lacks a real background and has limited detail it probably took about 2.5 hrs to complete^^

I suppose this horse is a character of mine? It's gonna be an important horse to say the least. xD Gonna bring Cesar's butt all over the place for quite some time so! I've been debating on making the horse a real character, but it'll only happen if I decide to have that horse be long-term, Cesar might end up switching from horse to horse from time to time. WE'LL SEE.
And Ben's markings are just fine! He's still a WIP as well so. xD I could tell from looking at him that he was Ben. <3 I love Wolfool tho! Was bumping around your gallery and saw all the pictures <3 African Wild Dogs are epic. xD

Huh, loads of refs were used with the horses... Horse legs are weird so it took me a while to get them right XD Oh and Wild Dogs are so so gorgeous, such amazing markings and THOSE EARS! I love out of proportion big ears on animals so just had to use one of these dogs for Wolfool 
And no rush with your half, I completely understand how manic it can get with multiple images on the go at once, so really, whenever you've got time!

omg horse legs are horrible. xD I always draw them like they're walking on sticks. I LOVE Wild Dogs, they're one of my favorites. <3 they're awesome in too many ways :>
Things totally ate up my week so I'll probably start tomorrow on the trade. xDD Finally got back in the drawing mood (now if only I could get back into the RPing mood I'd be set. Sorry I haven't replied in forever. D: )
