"I'm sending you on a hunt, Cariad. The Deity has been removed, but it seems that is not enough to complete the ritual. I will open a portal to this Other Place and you will follow him; you will hunt him even if it takes you to the ends of this world or the next and you will kill him."

Cariad remained silent, watching her master with the blood red eyes of her kind. The cloaked form of Chaos was hunched over the floor of the cave as she scratched bloody runes in a wide circle. Cariad stood perfectly still, her white paws set squarely beneath her, waiting for commands. She had hunted many of her master's enemies before but this would be her first journey to another world save this one and the Otherworld, the land of the dead. She had no fear, no emotion about her orders she merely waited.

"If anyone gets in your way, kill them, even that bone headed brother, of his; I felt him passing into that world some time ago. Let nothing and no one stand in your way. Now go."

"Understood." A pulse of red filled the room as Cariad stepped into the circle, her white fur stained like blood. With a lurch she shifted through the earth and plummeted down, down into an abyss. By some miss-calculation or lack of care on her master's part her landing was in no way graceful or painless; she plummeted into the side of a snowy ridge tumbling down the side of a towering mountain until she landed hard against a rock, banging her head and falling into oblivion in a harsh, cold new world.
