Just a thought/idea: if you have Adobe Photoshop, try running your black outline through the besian curves (aka "make it a path") then fill with black. (there's a button at the bottom of the layer box in the paths section that allows you to fill path with foreground color) I think your style is a good candidate for this... it might snap it up a little with the variation of thickness/thinness of lines that the besian does.
