I like this moose a lot <3
Are the tribal markings purple for any special reason?

Wolfsjal In reply to Pannya [2010-01-16 16:35:02 +0000 UTC]

Moose, I have discovered, are fairly universally likable. At least here on dA. XD

Nah, I just toss in things like that all the time. I did draw all these different animals for my friends as representations of animals that are spiritually important to them, so I guess the little random markings sort of signify that 'we're not normal animals, we're special!' *moose gives a big moose grin* You know, that kind of thing. : D

At least they still get some love.

glowcat In reply to Wolfsjal [2010-01-08 18:27:38 +0000 UTC]

They're pretty violent critters too. I facepalm when I hear about tourists getting trampled because they were trying to feed calves (and momma got angry). Note to world- stay away from Moose!!

But, yes, they deserve lots of love!!

Wolfsjal In reply to glowcat [2010-01-09 16:26:01 +0000 UTC]

I've seen touristy type people do VERY dumb things around wild animals in places like Jasper and Banff alberta, or in Colorado.

Like... how about NOT trying to sit your child on the back of an apparently docile but still wild ungulate?
How about NOT getting your family to stand directly in front of a large group of calves, females and two young adult male elk when they are very clearly getting agitated by your presence?
*shakes head*

city slickers...tsk tsk tsk

I want to go hike in banff so bad!! It will have to wait a few years though.

Wolfsjal In reply to glowcat [2010-01-22 07:51:44 +0000 UTC]

I actually recommend Jasper over Banff for the most part; though both of course are beautiful amazing places. Jasper just happens to be a little less touristy, in terms of still being able to find places that only the locals seem to know about and which are relatively untouched.

Moose are under appreciated, that's for sure! XD And if anything you might see male moose more often, what with the impressive antler set. But I wanted to draw one of the females.

An thanks! This little moose went to a good friend of mine.

Moose! This is indeed, a very moosey moose. You did a great job with this!

Tehee, moose. I adore their silly moose noses.

*giggles* I think moose have this effect on everyone. XD

Their noses are truly one of their cutest/ silliest features.
Sometimes in photographs a female moose will look like a beautiful horse at first glance, only with longer legs... but then you notice the giant shnoze on them.

ZOMG!!! ish a moose! *fav*

aside from my random "must fav impulse" I have to say I really like the composition, simplicity and design :3

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Wolfsjal In reply to nekoheehee [2010-01-01 18:31:11 +0000 UTC]

hee, that was kind of my reaction too. I think this is only the second moose I've ever drawn in my entire life, and the first was back when I was in elementary school. XD
They are such silly looking animals, and yet sometimes they can be utterly beautiful and powerful looking at the same time.

Thanks for the random fav too!

no problem :3 Moose are highly involved in an inside joke between my fiance and I because of that silly yet beautiful and powerful aspect. in fact one of her pet names is currently moose for that reason, and ment in the most loving of ways
I'll be sure to show this to her and I'm sure she'll love it too
