Gah, i sure learned alot from doing this pic. x.o The number one thing was: Make the background before coloring the main thing. >.< (Bleh, cruddy background. e_e) Another was: Learn how to use the grass tool properly. =o (Whee, tranparent grass! 8D) But yeah, im just happy im finally finished with this pic. =3

Oh yeah, i also kinda made a mini story to go behind the picture. ^-^

The girl is from some elven tribe that lives in the mountain forests. And about those wings.. o_o They were supposed to be a sort of exaggeration that was trying to show that she was practically flying as she ran. ._. I dont think that works anymore. xD Ehem. Lets just say that her type of people can magically grow and un-grow wings from their backs at will! owo Yea thats it.. ..Anway.. the wolf running with her is her long time friend. :3 She rescued her as a pup when she was abandoned in the woods by her Mother and siblings, being she was the runt of the litter and couldnt keep up with the rest. o-o So the girl raised her and kept her not as a pet, but as a friend. And yeah, they both wear the same anklet thing to show their friendship and connection to each other. =3

And that tis it. This was fun. And i just realized, this is my first digital art in a looong time. ._.

Date i submitted sketch: Nov. 14 2005. Date i submitted finished piece: Feb. 20 2006. o___o Just thought i'd point that out.

Yay, it 'tis fineshed! |3 -gives you a baloon- Huzzah! 8D

That sounds like a neat story, I still very much like the wolfy with his perty eyes and design. Good line-art, coloring, and shading! 83 The grass tool can indeed be a pain, yes. =o= -nod- Well, awsome digital picture-ness! n_n

Cool. Not bad at all. If I might make a suggestion, it would be to unify the style a bit more. The mountains look extremely cartoony, complimenting your figures, but the realism of the grass and clouds sort of break the picture apart. My comment isn't exactly a matter of working on the background more, just doing it slightly differently so on the whole your picture is more coherent.

I like the dog. Looks like she's having a good time.

Heh, thanks for the suggestion. I totally understand what you mean by the cartoony and realism clashing. x_x Makes me feel like fiddleing around on Photoshop more to find different ways to color landscapes. Thanks, i'll think about that alittle more.. its nice to have some advice every once in a while.

Yay, clouds are so very fun to make! 8D Aww, wings are fun to draw if you know how. (I actually think these particular wings look quite odd.. ) Thanks a ton Gabby!

I still like the poses and the snowy mountains The story behind it is kinda nice too heh. Glad to find this finished and not left behind!

Oh, really? I would of never guessed. They just seem to add only small improvements to the Photoshops as they go higher. Not very big changes anyway... at least i think. o.o Or i could be talking complete rubbish at this moment! xD
