I'm taking a break from my kitten plush I was working on because the rear legs are making me angry. So... here are a few of my pottery pieces that made it into the art show this year.This is a stoneware mixed media sculpture. It is hand sculpted (and broken many times) over several weeks. So many people think he's scary, but I think he's adorable!

He is very cute! Very cool idea. Love the fur on it, too. They head is rather big for the body, though. What kind of skull is that? This is really awesome, though. <3

The skull IS too big! It is a red fox skull. I should have used a gray fox for it, but I could not get my hands on one that was the right size before the art show.

Yeah, I got a lot of skulls, but it's hard to make something like this out of stoneware. Took me forever!

Yeah, I can see. It's really great, though. I can't get over it. Stoneware's pretty tricky, I've only worked with it once, though. Do you use it often?

Yeah, but usually I make pots, plates, cookware, jars, etc. Very rarely do I use it as a sculpture medium. It just shatters too easily before you fire it.

Thank you, and I considered that. I sort of like the hellhound look. But pelts just to mess around with and cut up into pieces are a little pricey.

Late reply, but buy scrap pelts! I know a person or two who basically just asks for the cost of shipping, and that's it. They can include larger pieces, too - I have a ton of 'em from them, that are at LEAST 2 feet by 2 feet.

I have found lots of those from ebay. Some have only cost $10 and they have been in really good condition.
