Description This took me a LONG time. This drawing is around 36"x42"? Compressed charcoal and white conte on brown paper. The goal was to translate Poussin's painting into only 3 tones- black, white, and middle (brown)- to better see how he used lights and darks as organizational devices. Reference lines have been added to highlight geometry. Not sure what else to say, other than that I am thrilled to be done. I found this quite difficult.

well done, and probably very good for you to have done. It's so important to practice spatial relationships, preportions, and structure, just like this. Keep it up!

Thanks! Yes I am glad I put the extra effort in on this. I learned a lot and feel like I was able to make this my own and not just a dry copy.
