Yes I AM well aware of that (am I not supposed to focus on his most recognizable feature in a caricature?). I've known that for well over 8 years now, when I was rooting for him against Bush.

sry it's just that alot of people make fun of him because of that and it makes me feel sad...

I totally agree with you. Whenever kids at my school made fun of his "oblong" face, I'd go into this whole ranting mode about his time as a POW in Vietnam. Lately, Family Guy's getting me mad too. Their Vietnam War jokes are so tasteless and cruel. [link]

I've been meaning to do a Palin caricature now too. She gives me the heebie jeebies.

haha. I think he has plenty more to worry about than me mocking his silly face. Namely loosing his chance at the White House to Obama. Boo ya!

I wouldn't mind if you drew a presidential contender I felt I could actually support... I wouldn't mind if this country could find one.

Argh. I just figure that in this day and age, with all the media raptors digging up every particle of dirt and blowing everything out of proportion, any candidate is going to look like a slug. I'd hate to think what would have happened to the images of Abe, Jefferson, or Franklin if they lived in this time period.

G-Go In reply to WonderDookie [2008-06-23 01:17:30 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, no kidding. Jefferson certainly would not have been elected....to anything.
But honestly, there isn't a candidate out there right now that I can get behind... *sigh*

I don't hate McCain, and I don't think he's too old either... but I also don't think he should be President.
Also, nice rendition!

Yeah. I'm actually not horrified with the prospect of him winning the presidency. I'd prefer that he didn't, but it's not like when Bush ran 4 and 8 years ago and I was terrified that he'd win.

Holy s...t, dude, he looks like he received the brunt of an Iraqi roadside IED right in the face! Although, coming to think of it, you probably did not have to "improve" that much on the original, haha.
Good to hear from you!

I can't vote for him after his racist statement against Asians, and he can't blame his pastor, at least Obama isn't like his pastor, McCain has no excuse

I think it's his saggy lower jaw. I don't know if that's because of his war injuries, but his lower lip always seems to droop. Makes him look really old.
I'm glad too! I get far too many comments on my work that are just movie quotes and personal anecdotes that don't have anything to do with my actual illustration. SO, yours is much appreciated.

WonderDookie In reply to flashbackbingo [2008-04-11 22:15:06 +0000 UTC]
Yeah. I used to REALLY like him as a politician to tell the truth, up until lately when he seems to have sold his soul to the republican party.
I think a talent mind meld would be a little uncomfortable. I have a very large territorial bubble.
π: 0 β©: 1
flashbackbingo In reply to WonderDookie [2008-04-12 01:46:48 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, he was cool because he was so much more liberal, but now he's trying to meld with the Republican party to make the conservatives more happy. See, George Washington was right: political parties = eeeevil.
Uhm, a talent meld isn't all that uncomfortable... it's kinda warm and fuzzy.

WonderDookie In reply to flashbackbingo [2008-04-14 06:00:47 +0000 UTC]
It's not just that he's was acting a little more liberal, he also had some ideas about campaign finance reform that I think would have really helped the country. Now he just seems to have given up on them.
Sounds pleasant. I'm still wary though.

Right, but I'm not too keen on his war policies. I don't know if he's lightened up on them lately (I haven't heard him speak in awhile), but I'm so sick of this war business that I wish somebody would just step up and get an exit plan going.

WonderDookie In reply to flashbackbingo [2008-04-14 19:36:36 +0000 UTC]
Yeah. I think he's still pushing "stay the course". Last I heard he was anyway. I think that sentiment is exactly why Obama is going to win the presidency.
π: 0 β©: 1
flashbackbingo In reply to WonderDookie [2008-04-15 04:49:30 +0000 UTC]
Yeah I hope so. He seems fresh and different. I hope he's not pulling an act to win the presidency just to screw us over later.

Well I was following him during his senate election too, he seems like a pretty good guy. I still think he sort of jumped the gun running this time though. I think he should have waited another 4 or 8 years.

WonderDookie In reply to flashbackbingo [2008-04-15 23:00:43 +0000 UTC]
Well I don't thing he directly said "hick". Personally I thought his comment was pretty accurate to the condition in a lot of the country, he just didn't dumb-down/sugar coat his comments.
haha. And if you were going to consider anyone hicks, lets not forget about the "great state" of Texas.

flashbackbingo In reply to WonderDookie [2008-04-16 00:39:37 +0000 UTC]
Haha I know, I dig his honesty too, I just think Michigan is fricken hickville for some reason. I myself can't wait to move.
Yeah, Texas is a great state; fantastic producer of the leaders of tomorrow. Hehe.

Any particularly awesome destinations in mind to move to? As much as I hate to say it, I've had experience moving from hickville to the city. Hickvilles do have their drawing power. You'd be surprised. (I moved back).
That's why I'm trying to restart the "American Friends for Texas Secession"

Oh boy. Yeah, working at a gas station would drive me insane. Especially since I'm in the only state where you have to have someone else pour your gasoline. Horrible.
Ha. Oh well. I tend to rattle on. Keep this up and it'll look like this is actually a popular drawing.

flashbackbingo In reply to WonderDookie [2008-04-16 14:07:53 +0000 UTC]
Ehh it doesn't hurt to look more popular, right? I still don't know why it's not that popular... it's a great example of a vector.
Wow... they pump your gas for you? I didn't know that. Maybe I'll move to Oregon and not work at a gas station, haha.
