Description SNOW WHITE
2012

"Oh, dear huntsman, spare my life, and I'll run into the wild forest and never come home again."

Since she was so beautiful, the huntsman took pity on her and said, "You're free to go, my poor child!" Then he thought, the wild beasts will soon eat you up. Nevertheless, he felt as if a great weight had been lifted off his mind, because he did not have to kill her. Just then a young boar came dashing by, and the huntsman stabbed it to death. He took out the lungs and liver and brought them to the queen
as proof that the child was dead. The cook was ordered to boil them in salt, and the wicked [queen] ate them and thought that she had eaten Snow White's lungs and liver.

I think she left before he killed the boar.

Good observation; however, that is only one interpretation.

After the Huntsman tells Snow White that she could leave, the text flows into the action of killing the boar and of delivering the ‘goods’ to the queen. After that, the text states that Snow White ‘was petrified and [didn’t] know what to do.’ She may have been too scared to run into the woods until after the huntsman stabbed the boar. And remember, the huntsman told Snow White that she could leave, the text doesn’t say that she actually left when he told her to.

I liked how ambiguous this section of the story was, so I decided to illustrate Snow White witnessing the stabbing before running away. (^_^)

Though I think she probably would have hightailed it right then.
