Scientific Name: Idiosporia flatulus subsp.
Habitat: global Kano
Called the Pluophhh by the natives because of the rude noise it creates as a side effect of gas release, the Fungosponge is actually neither fungus or sponge. It is a vast colony of microbes working as one to catch, process, and release hot gas from thermal vents and geysers. The different subspecies take many forms and niches (some look like shelf fungus hanging off the inside of vents; others look like gelatinous blobs or cushions) but all are characterized by the signature 'fart' they produce regularly.
Do they stink? Well, let's just say that the scientists who first stepped out of that spaceship turned right around and went back inside. XD
