I think the hospital would have a storage section for patients' personal effects. Nurses would only be allowed into it if the patient was being discharged. The coat is probably there, along with the rest of Emmanuel's clothing and other effects (wow, Cas would have a proper wallet! Not just the one that belonged to Jimmy), not in Meg's direct possession.
Under the right circumstances she could probably get a hold of them (or if she decided to just break in), but really, what use would she have for a set of men's clothing, a blood-stained trenchcoat, and ID for one Emmanuel Allen? (Though I wouldn't put it past her to empty his wallet of any spare cash he had). She'd probably leave them in storage until such time as something comes up where she'd remove Cas from the hospital.
