DA seems fuller now than ever with fractal images making it all too easy to over-look delicate intricate hand-rendered work. A barrage of rich visuals can numb even the most sensitive of visual explores so when, as in this case, an artist uses similar graphic devices such as iteration it is vital to stop, look hard and treat it with the respect the time and thought gone in deserves. Bones become flint, enveloped in sea foam. Rising up to the crest of wave arching into a distance lost in space yet frozen in time. Fading to a fine spray evolving across the roof of the composition into a maelstrom on the verge of collapse, or is it a wall of cloud holding back the encroaching darkness of the erupting Earth? Sulphurous smoke lousy with fine ash billowing forth from the rendered ground, the glowing red hinting of the agony caused by the ripping of the flesh. I say flesh as we are then once again by the spine, individual vertebrae hissing like the Earth-Body is some great machine on the verge of mechanical failure under it's own strain. A chain reaction, on the cusp of critical mass like the balance our world endures constantly with the violent nuclear convection within and the cold embrace of an unfeeling Universe. And what such pain and collision of elements has brought; land, sea, sky and with them the promise of life, albeit brief, painful and full of questions. One thing can be relied upon; infinite variety, complexity and iteration. We all walk this beach. At first glance it may seem aimless, even pointless. At times cruel. It may go on forever without much sense of change, but look around and choose to see all these things for what they are! Wondrous and connected. Maybe then you may feel connected with it all too.

I have always been thrilled when people can find their own dreams and meanings in my work, if I have reached in deeply enough. But you have reached through and found out where I was when I felt the inchoate necessity that this image transformed, into something tangible and locked in time.And that I could look at from the outside. As I read your poetic descrpition I was taken back to a rather lost period in my life when I was drawn to glimmerings from shamanic teachings and experience. And you so rightly picked up on that message central to me then... that we are all connected already and we somehow have to invite ourselves into this dance, if we can.... again and again !!!
