Name: Jaguar (Panthera onca)
Location: South and Central America
Size: 180 cm long body weight: 120 Kg
Diet: capybaras, peccaries, fish, crocodiles, turtles, sloths, monkeys, tapirs, deers, snakes, but also domesticated cattle and horses...
Conservation status: Near Threatened
Interesting facts: Jaguar is the biggest feline of America| jaguars have very huge and powerful jaws | there are two colour variations of jaguars – yellow and black, which is called “melanism form“. The black colour is caused by recessive allele and is rerar than normal yellow colouring | the mother gives birth to 2-4 cubs and she does not tolerate the presence of a male, who is a threath to baby kittens | jaguars live up to 12-15 years | jaguars swim perfectly

Good timing of shot, head tilt stands out well with eye colour brought up by the light. though the small blured ledge could cause a bit of obstruction to the overal photo.

Pretty kitty, I always wondered if the two colors were the same animal, I didn't know the recessive part could mean black colors as well as white. I used to have several black cats, named after black big cats, like Jaguar in this case, Panther, and even a couple named after some fictional characters, like Pink, because that particular pet cat was black like a panther and obliviously mischievous like the Pink Panther, and even one named T'Challa, as in the Black Panther from the Avengers, or Felicia as in the real name of Black Cat from Spiderman as he was an alpha cat, who did not tolerate bullying in the rest of my pride, did not like strange cats and dogs in the yard, and would even pounch and claw my father's face off whenever he would hit my mother or myself. Felicia of course like her comic namesake had a knack for getting into everything and stealing stuff and hiding it. Yes Black cats are among my favored colors, as are white cats, black and white cats, lilac point siamese, and calico. My current black and white cat is named Oreo Double-Stuff Cookie, one of few pet cats I ever had full names for, she looks like an oreo cookie, she's fat [double-stuff], and cookie, for its multiple means, it's her nickname, she's kooky a bit crazy, and at times grumpy. Unfortunately now, she's possibly in her last year with us, she's twenty years old know, cats have a tendency to live beyond their average lifespan under the care of my family. My last white cat also lived to be twenty, my lilac point siamese lived to be seventeen, my calico "Miss Kitty" is pushing 18, but is in far better health than Cookie. Oreo has to eat separately from the other cats now because the younger ones steal her food, and Miss Kitty has to have a separate room, because the other cats pick on her for being old, and unlike Oreo, she doesn't fight back and kick her attacker's tails.
