Description Well, the work project which has been chewing all my time for the last two months in general, and last month in particular, is finally coming to a close, which means after this week I can finally a) stop working 70-80hr weeks and b) start getting illustration/writing etc. back on track... including Monday Musings. For now however, one more from the sketchpad, so here's Higgins wearing the base Arcadia winter uniform. That is to say without the more hardy outer pea coat which stops wind, rain, sleet and snow, nor the heavier coat (not seen yet) intended for escorting Arctic convoys in.

Unfortunately as part of wrapping this thing up I'm also out of town, without refills for my markers, which are running low. So not the best rendering job I've ever done.

She's got the gangway mid-watch 10,000 yard stare!

The light duty/port uniform is quite striking in its simplicity, especially when Miss Higgins is wearing it.  You've got s very good eye for clothing design, I think you've got a very good secondary career there.

Probably got there as a result of hanging off the side of the yacht...

Cheers mate. I've got to admit I'm enjoying working on the Arcadia uniform, they're an interesting challenge as they need to both look good and be practical, even the light duty stuff. Similarly, I'm trying to reduce the number of items each crew member has (and thus needs to keep clean and store), so most of it has to be able to do double duty with the working dress/at sea and light duty/port uniforms. Ditto, Arcadia's beat takes everywhere from the tropics, to the Persian Gulf, to the Arctic, so there needs to be enough options for the crew to be comfortable and efficient across all environments. It's fun.

That's a functional but classic look if I've ever seen one.

There's something just difficult to beat about a ribbed military jumper.

Plus, from a personal perspective they're hard wearing, warm, and cheap as chips.

Looking at that with temps up here in the Northern Hemisphere pushing 30° C.... (turns up the AC).

Military turtlenecks are always sharp so *thumbsup*

Heh, personally I'm really enjoying having some cooler weather for a change.

As an aside, I was quite surprised to see your comment when I got up this morning, seemingly I was that tired last night that I set the scheduled upload for Sunday rather than Monday.
