...Actually, this character is Professor Crowley, but Nitrinoxus has no one 'sona or avatar that represents him. For this, I decided to use the only character I could think of that really seems to inspires fear.

The Sinestro Corps was founded by the leader of the same name. Sinestro was once a Green Lantern and one of the best before he was banished to the planet Qward. There, he gained a yellow poiwer ring and after a long struggle against Hal Jordan, he founded the Sinestro Corps which manufactured hundreds of new rings under a Yellow Central Battery. The Yellow Light is the color of fear and is unique--the rings are not fueled primarily by the wearer's own fears but the fears of others. The more fear that is generated in an area, the stronger the ring becomes. In rare occassions, however, the ring can be fueled by the corps' own fear of failure or stress but this can risk the ring turning on its own user. At the very least, they are fortunate that Yellow is actually a relatively stable color in the emotional spectrum; nowhere near as controllable as green but it's enough where the user is in control.

Though they stand against the Green Lantern Corps, the Sinestro Corps does not see themselves as inherently evil. They wish to use their power to bring about order just as the Guardians of Oa do, but with fear. Sinestro battles for the Guardians to recognize their Corps as legit as the Green Lantern Corps and the Alpha Corps. So far, the Guardians have refused to acknowledge this.
