Brian Bendis may have written some duds, but that doesn't mean he's a BAD writer. I wonder why some people hate him so much they keep badmouthing his work (like they can do better), and the funny part is that they still buy it.For me, Dark Avengers is a solid read. I almost missed it due to budget constraints, good thing a comic shop owner commissioned me to do this Iron Patriot sketch on the blank cover, and gave another free copy for myself.

If you've been collecting a certain continuity, you really do have to buy the comic even if you don't like the creator.
Bendis is a great writer, but I feel his talent his wasting it all working within such a limited framework as the marvel universe, always at the mercy of fans and editors alike. His best work has always been his indie crime comics of the 80's and early 90's before Marvel picked him up.
