Why don't you go fill your own gallery with your smut?

You're a spamming retard. That crap might fly on Facebook, but dA doesn't appreciate "repost this if X" messages.

How very true that is. I had a professor at the University of North Florida who loved to do things like this with image and text.

I'm not going to argue your opinions, but I am going to mention that at any graphic design school you look at, there are at least three semester long courses in typography and that it is a pretty tricky skill to pick up.
Ire toward Text On the Front Page is best directed at the "I wrote something in my notebook, took an iPhone photo, and slammed a Photoshop action over it" deviations.

Agreed.. But what isn't art for one is art for another.
I think stuff like this is too easy and for it to be on the main page for as long as it had been is kind of depressing because there are so many artists out there more deserving of the spotlight but never get to it because they're not 'popular' enough.

Well, the two pictures next to it that look like they took over a month each to draw deserve to be there.

Ever heard the saying "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"?
You are entitled to your own opinion, but the piece's page where the artist and everyone else can see it is not an appropriate place to share it.
I don't want to start a fight, just ask you to be a little more considerate.
This website is host to all forms of art, from written word and painting to photography and photomanipulation. Clearly if it has 19,043 views and 3,039 favorites, someone out there deems it fit for the front page.
I would bring up the fact that you only have four things uploaded and under 400 views, but that wouldn't be very nice now, would it?

How long something takes to make hardly has anything to do with how good a piece of art it becomes.

I could work on a piece for weeks or months and it still be crap while someone else could work on a piece for an hour and it be better. Time/=greatness

scribble something in five seconds, or, hey, type something out on to a piece of paper in 5 seconds, then draw something for a day, then compare the two. sorry to pull you out of your fantasy land.

JesusFan13 In reply to LeafblightTheGreat [2012-06-22 02:02:19 +0000 UTC]
Okay, you are using an unrealistic time frame there buddy. But still, a person can do an amazing job on something in a set period of time,(heck I remember watching a show of an artist doing random paintings in an hour and they be fantastic) so it's really skill(and concept) that makes art great and not how much time is put into it.

MatiasPage [2012-06-19 01:37:48 +0000 UTC]
Great, but the concept is more of a general motivational quote. I think you must consciously and methodically check your own mind, otherwise it will more than likely "close" in the future when presented with challenging ideas, because of it's own reductions, generalizations, biases, faults and such. Thanks for sharing your art.

Because it (mind/or they) will be gullible to everything and everyone and will always "flow with the crowd." Not a characteristic that I want. Good work but the saying isn't true.

Ah no! Once it happens you can understand the flow but don't become part of it. Simply because now you have the ability to constantly think, observe. At least that is how I see it.
