AKA "Noah", Weimaraner

I like Hyena. I don't like him as much as I do some of my other faves, but I do earnestly like him. A prominent pattern in the Ginga universe is that characters who start out cowardly and selfish but aren't utterly evil tend to receive the most powerful character development. Hyena is, IIRC, the first example of this in the franchise. He goes from minion to (short lived) hero, and, spoiler alert for later series, ends up becoming a doting provider for orphaned puppies. There's nothing I love more then a glo-up.

I can barely fucking spell Weimaraner, let alone draw one, but I tried my best. They don't normally have any distinct differences in their fur coloration, but he gets a white muzzle because I said so. He's also got wide, unfocused eyes that are characteristic to the breed and his personality. He's got his baby blue collar from the manga because it's a good, soft contrast to the more orthodox colors of the other soldiers' collars, and he's got little wormy eyebrows because that seems to be a part of his design. Having met Weims irl, I gotta say it's weird thinking that Hyena might actually be considered a medium-large dog what with him whizzing himself in fear.
