YEAH MY NEXT PROJECT IS THE LION KING LEMME LIIIIIVE this movie was my everything as a kid. For better or for worse, I still find my artistic tastes being impacted by it. Also it's just a super fun film, and Simba is definitely a good protagonist. Cub Simba is everything that baby animals are: cute, ornery, curious, and self motivated with no genuine malice behind his carelessness. Seriously, I was tasked with puppysitting a coupla weeks ago and I saw so much of this kid in my assigned dogchild that it drove me mad. Some people hate baby Simboo because he's kind of an asshole, but I don't mind it. It's necessary for his development and also, noah fence to any children in the audience, but kids ARE assholes, especially when they're raised by the wealthy and self-righteous elite.

Might've used too much white tbh, but fuck it, I think he turned out okay. I really wanted to maintain as much of his OG facial design as I could given it's a solid design. I also wanted to emphasis that he's a lil babie by giving him a glut of cub spots. I'm kinda enamored by animated characters who have mostly realistic bodies but just do whatever they want in the face, as you can see lol
