Description
This is one of four pictures that I created for 's artbook for his short animated film, Yuki Tani no Shuraba. He gave me a sneak preview, and it's very awesome!The other 3 pictures I made are only for the artbook, which will also feature more art from Mike the creator himself and other guest artists. Both the film and the artbook will be coming out later this summer, do stay tuned.

There's a Mushishi feel to this, which is never bad, only great 
It's not as tranquill as this drawing seems to be, that's for sure, but i think that's part of the beauty of it.
This is one of those drawings, i think, when you have to stop and stare a little bit to see all that it has to present, yet it's still not one of those, where the details suddenly jump out of you, it's more like a process of slow understanding, of slowly getting to know it better. This really is a nice piece, it's a shame that the writings cover up so much of it, but i guess it's for the copyright reasons etc.

Beautiful work~! I love the intense lighting and shadows, and the scenery/composition is very nice~
The only thin' that kinda bothers me is the little girl's left calf; I understand that it's supposed to be further back, but it just looks a bit too extreme with your realistic style 'n perspective.
The words are a bit distracting too, but I guess it's necessary.

Have you ever thought of making scripts while you doing your artwork in Painter?
It will be cool to see the process of your work playing back in Painter.
Script file is similar to OpenCanvas event file except it is much more powerful as it can be use like Photoshop actions file too though it has some limitation too.
